Civil rights icons Rep. John Lewis and Rep. Bennie Thompson announced Thursday they will not attend President Donald Trump's upcoming visit to the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, calling the trip "an insult" to the African-Americans commemorated there. “President Trump’s attendance and his hurtful policies are an insult to the people portrayed in this civil rights museum," Thompson (D-Miss.) and Lewis (D-Ga.) said in a joint statement.
