COLORBLIND BLACK MEN AND THE CHILDISH GAMBIT TO DEFEND DONALD GLOVER

WHEN THERE'S REALLY NOTHING TO DEFEND
YET
THEY ARE GASLIGHTING BLACK WOMEN ANYWAY

The problem with most of the discussions and articles on black men who date white women is that they focus on individual behavior instead of the pattern of group behavior
Just like an individual black woman, or 2% of black women, or 10% of black women always deciding to get a relaxer or a straight weave does not indicate that a particular black woman or black women, as a group, have a problem loving and appreciating natural black hair, 90% of black women always choosing straight hair through relaxer or weave just might.
For a long time black women automatically got their hair straightened in order to look near and professional once they became adults. This was an outcome of bathing in white supremacy 24/7.
And now this white supremacy influenced behavior is being in the black community addressed through the natural hair care movement. And even though I've been natural for 25 years, I'm relieved. I am glad to have more information about the moisturizing and maintaining the health of my tresses.

And now it's time for black men to address their problem with thinking whiteness is superior for so long as that whiteness is wrapped around a white woman -- especially when a black man gets rich.

And this does seem like a problem for black men in a way it is not for black women. If 12 percent of black men marry outside the race when they are not rich but 50 to 60% do when once they cross into the rich zone, then it ought to be obvious to everyone that black men have a problem, a problem believing proximity to whiteness makes everything better.

And I think high profile black men pattern is obvious to everyone.  The black community is just pretending it's not obvious because the average black man is humiliated by this behavior. Hence, the denial. Since male supremacy is real inside and outside the black community, what black men say is "not real" goes

--except the black men's pattern of chasing Becky and Becky-adjacents (Asian, Latina, Kim Ks) once they get a little money is obvious to anyone who cares to look. Anyone.
And when I say anyone I mean to include white people who couldn't tell Michael Jackson was bleaching himself  until he was two shades darker than milk. Everybody knows black men reach startdom and fame and then reach for Becky

There's just no denying this.

Childish, Scott, Michael, Tiger, Taye, Kanye, Jay Z, John Ridley...and their white or light spouses

In the process of the black community pretending it cannot see the group behavior of high profile, rich black men, the black community has decided to gaslight large swaths of black women who can see the black men's obvious pattern.

They tell black women they are angry and bitter over "losing" someone like Childish Gambino from the black dating pool. This is laughable. So allow me to imitate a patriarchy soaked man for a moment in order to make a point.

Childish Gambino is not Idris Elba
While Childish is okay in the face to some, what has unapologetically come out of his misogynistic mouth combined with his hairy, two-pounds from obese body -- a pudginess that winds up making him look like a sawed off runt-- the rest of him kinda makes him a no-go for most black women.
And if he has become a gold spreader in order to compensate for his short comings --as many rich men do --I'm sure there are gold-diggers that will bring their beauty to the table in exchange for the money he's laying on the table.
But as I understand it, that option is only open to white and Asian women.
All of this is why I can estimate with confidence that upwards of 98% of black women are not jealous of the white woman or Asian woman that Childish is with right now or has been with in the past. Furthermore, black women are not jealous of the white, light, asian, and latina women that Kanye, Nate Parker, half the black NFL, half the black AFL, and half the black men in baseball have paired up with.

Know why?

Too many of the exclusive-Becky chasers are permanently broken, and obviously so

Ain't no black woman worth her salt got time that.

So while it is true that a person cannot tell that a black man's mind has been broken by white supremacy just by looking at who he's decided to date or take for a spouse, you can look at behavioral patterns of a demographic. You can look at group behavior and come up with some pretty solid hypotheses.

And black men have an obvious pattern of chasing women that are white or in close proximity to whiteness once they get rich.

Some black male writers want to claim there is a double standard for rich black women in Hollywood. But I think this is just a way of throwing mud in the water on behalf of their heroes. But I could be wrong.
It could be that it just SEEMS like black men have a problem black women do not, once they are rich, because black men are more numerous and more visible in Hollywood and sports. But the black women listed in one article --Halle Berry, Tyra Banks, Venus and Serena-- these women did not stop dating black men AFTER they were rich and famous. They dated white and brown men in addition to black men post riches and fame..
That is, unlike Donald Glover, Kanye, and Taye Diggs and famous black women are NOT exhibiting any symptoms that can be "mistaken" for Asian fetish or white fetish.
And I don’t see black women making sure they date black women lighter than a paper bag either — even writing songs about “light skinned honies” before they marry the biggest pop singer the world has seen.
JAY Z -   "And all the wavy light skinned girls is loving me now..."
~DECEMBER 4th Lyric

To me black men's problems with loving whiteness and lightness for so long as it's wrapped around a woman is obvious. And if only 12% of average income black men marry-out while 50, 60, or 70 percent of black men marry-out once they get rich, then there's something bad happening in that gap.

Black men very, very likely have a problem at the group level if they need to do an O J Simpson once they get rich. And the problem revealed by the gap probably goes by the name, "Internalized Racism."

Again, do not hear me say every black man married to a white woman has an internalized racism problem. I am talking about the pattern we can see in the group of black men.

I won't even say every rich black man married to a white or light woman has an internal racism problem.

I mean, it's seems likely that other black people are going to be harder to find and date once you are part of The Black One-Percenters.  I get that. Who doesn't? Black men lonely to meet anyone who love them back live in the gap I've described too -- not just the color struck black man.

Yet, most of black female one-percenters I can think of managed to date black men after becoming rich -- even if they wound up marrying out in the end.

KANYE:  "Me and most of our friends like mutts a lot. Yeah ..."
("mutts" = mixed race girls)

Black men devaluing of black female beauty at the group level is hurtful to the entire black community. But it is especially harmful to black girls when they fail to notice black male content creators in Hollywood are also telling them that white and light is right -- and doing so nearly as often as white content creators do.
Think about it:
  • THE COSBY SHOW and A DIFFERENT WORLD began with dating age girls at the center of their shows that were pale as milk. And three out of four black girls on A DIFFERENT WORLD were pale and mixed race both.
I cheered these black girl characters on without reservation when I was a kid. I loved them. Most black girls and black women still love them. And I still do too, frankly.

Imagine my surprise when I got to college and I was treated like Charnele Brown, the only non-WHAT-IS-SHE black girl student starring in A DIFFERENT WORLD. In real life black guys were never checking for my dark-skinned behind either.

What I should have been watching instead was SCHOOL DAZE.
And, I should have watched it over and over again until the reality of black male colorism set in.
That way, I and thousands of other black girls who went off to college thinking educated black men wouldn't dare treat us so shabbily wouldn't have been slapped across the face by the reality of black male worship of anything female in close proximity to whiteness.
I've come to the conclusion that this perpetuation of colorism is harmful in the same way as having carbon dioxide leaking into the room you are sleeping in.  It doesn't look, smell, or taste like anything. So you don't notice it's there while it's killing you.

Black women like me do know whether or not Donald Glover or any other black man loves his pale girlfriend for herself or if he loves her white skin because it gives him a higher status. And most of us can't be bothered to think about it one way or the other.

But we, as black women, should be thinking about the black men who defend Donald Glover as if he's not part of a huge black male pattern. The "BLERD" excuse is just that, an excuse -- a newish excuse for black men worshiping the white beauty aesthetic.

BLACK PATTERNS MATTER

It's a good thing that a few black male writers, here and there, that get this.

headline

BLACK NERDS: BEING BULLIED BY YOUR PEERS AS A KID IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR [LIFE LONG] ANTI-BLACKNESS
http://afropunk.com/2017/03/black-nerds-being-bullied-by-your-peers-as-a-kid-is-not-an-excuse-for-anti-blackness/

I don't think it's an accident that a black man that is married to a black woman who looks black --and sounds like a black feminist-- created strong, vulnerable, lovely, and intelligent black female characters that look  as black as the black male characters for THE BLACK PANTHER.

I don't think it's an accident that black men have been fairly strong, if not large in number, within Hollywood since the 1980s but haven't done jack for black female actresses that don't fall into the WHAT-IS-SHE category in over 30 years.

While 88% of average income black men do not marry out, it seems like most of them are perfectly capable of pretending they are as colorblind as white people when it comes to seeing rich black men slide white (and light) once they have more than two nickels to rub together

THE DEFENSE OF BLACK MALE PATTERNS MATTER

Part of me understands the willful colorblindness of black men (and black women) who will defend a rich black man at any cost. We are a people starved for signs that a black person can make it despite white supremacy. We want to see each and every black person that has made it to the mountain top as a hero.

But it just ain't so and for a variety of reasons.
Bill Cosby is not black hero material and hasn't been since the first POUND CAKE SPEECH
R. Kelly  is not black hero material
Nate Parker  is not black hero material
Chris Brown is not black hero material
And Donald Glover isn't either

Even if Glover stops exclusively dating white and Asian women, starts dating black women instead,  until he apologizes for the misogynist filth that has come out of his mouth, he's still deserves to be cancelled -- and not to punish him but to save us. The black community can ill afford a weak-mined black content creator that only sees half the race as fully human.

In my wildest dreams, I cannot imagine Donald Glover making anything that's uplifting to the entire black race and not just black men. I cannot imagine him making anything like BLACK PANTHER as much as some say he gravitates toward being "a credit to his race" before the white gaze.

But I can imagine Glover doing a John Ridley.
John Ridley, writer of 12 Years A Slave, decided to make a short series about THE BLACK POWER MOVEMENT in Britain and center it on a love story.
Sounds cool, right?
Imagine black women's surprise when they found out the black male character in GUERILLA was not in love with a black woman. Not only was a black female not the black male star's love interest, Ridley had a black woman be the sell out within the first episode or so.
And when Ridley was confronted about the e-race-sure and trashing of black women, he cried.  Ridley literally cried saying he wanted his wife to be represented in the series because other races were involved in the BLACK POWER MOVEMENT too.
A black man cannot call himself pro-black people when he is only pro-black men. But a lot of high profile black men in Hollywood and elsewhere have been doing this for decades -- and not just those married to white and light women either.
