"Inderjit Singh Mukker said he was viciously attacked just down the street because of his brown skin, turban and beard. His offender called him "Bin Laden," Mukker said, and told him to go back to his own country.
"This is my country," Mukker said. "This is my home. I am an American."

DuPage County State's Attorney Robert B. Berlin announced Tuesday that the Willowbrook teen accused of striking a man in the face a week ago has been charged with a hate crime, in addition to the previous charges of felony aggravated battery."Chicago Tribune
The decision was made after further the discovery of additional evidence, according to the official announcement of the charges which came just hours before The Sikh Coalition went ahead with its planned rally and news conference demanding these hate crime charges (<--- PUBLIC PRESSURE MATTERS)
Now I hope The Sikh Coalition can press to have this 17 year old's case moved to adult court. According to this article, this 17 year old punched a police officer in the face as he was arrested.
