INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH WHITE ENTITLEMENT IN "BLUE RACISM"

AND IT COULD ONLY HAPPEN IN THE ERA OF CHAD CROW

A video released by a New York Police Department union claims cops are the victims of a special type of prejudice: “blue racism.”
Released Sunday night, the nearly four-minute video from the Sergeants Benevolent Association, says officers face worse treatment than those judged by their race.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/nypd-blue-racism_us_599b037ee4b0e8cc855f162a

When I first read about this I kept reading, waiting to find a punchline. But there wasn't one. I was thinking this is THE ONION. It's satire. But it wasn't.

Police are CHOOSING a profession
and putting on a uniform,
which they can remove at anytime.
And somehow the white officers
that made this video thought to themselves
"it is like racism" ...
when the public criticizes police
for almost always circling the wagons
around that small yet deadly
number  of police officers
that are murdering and planting
evidence on citizens
--especially if those citizens are not white.

And the police, police unions, and prosecutors that don't prosecute have been somewhere upwards of 90% successful at protecting police officers who murder and essentially claim cowardice as their defense for shooting an unarmed person.

This video shows that black and brown lives that police officers have taken mean less than nothing to the white officer behind this video. (We knew that already, right?)

But now they've announced it and they didn't hear themselves say it.

And they didn't hear themselves say "We are white supremacists" because they do not understand the definition of white supremacist(s) is a lot simpler than many white people can conceive of.

AGAIN,
WHITE SUPREMACY IS
THE BELIEF THAT WHITE PEOPLE
ARE BETTER AND MORE VALUABLE
THAN PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT WHITE

Sometimes white supremacy involves the feeling of hate. Sometimes it doesn't
Sometimes white supremacy involves the n-word. Sometimes it doesn't.
Sometimes (or all the time) white supremacy involves the satisfying flush of feeling that comes when on feels powerful based on feeling superior to someone else.

Sometimes numbers tell the story of white supremacy. And it's like these white officers don't know perfectly damn well they shot 258 black people in 2016 and were only 11% short of half of them being unarmed.

CHAD, BUCKY, AND BIFF
And they think we're too stupid to know that when Chad uses his badge to shoot somebody who is not white because he or she is not white, Bucky (Becky's husband) often follows up by claiming he didn't see anything. Then Biff the prosecutor comes along and winds up being a better defense attorney than the guy the police union hired for the cop murderer

I've been calling the police the leading edge of white supremacy for a while now. But this shocked me.

Verbal violence does not surprise me from white supremacists Physical violence would not surprise me from white supremacists. And, frankly, I and most black folks have been expecting Charlottesville and something far uglier from white supremacists for a long time. In fact, I was sure the second term of President Obama would set a group just like alt-Right all the way off.

But they needed Trump to pour gas on them and tell them it was okay to come out with their white supremacy.

White supremacists who would ordinarily shun Kluxers and Nazis needed somebody to tell them the they don't have to be "politically correct" anymore. They needed somebody to tell them they can say it out loud,

"White people are the real victims here."

And I'm using "cop" and "white people" interchangeably because I'm thinking the black cop union and the latino cop union are going to part ways with the white cop union again, same as they did when the  (predominantly) white cop union endorsed Trump....if this story gets any traction at all.

This is industrial strength white entitlement. Let there be no doubt.

Not only did cops get caught planting evidence on people in Baltimore recently, they act like they don't know police are the ones shooting people down for reaching for their driver's licenses then clapping when their "brother" gets off in court.

August 21 headline

Baltimore State's Attorney announces third body camera video of 'questionable' police conduct

And they really can't figure out why we don't trust any of them anymore?  Really?

"Blue Racism" might be dumber, whiter, and more racist than something Trump could have come up with on his own.

You know what? I've been afraid of cops my entire life. I've always known that if something really bad was happening in my house and I had to call them, I'd be praying just as hard for the cops to not abuse me as any robber, rapist, or murderer. Our lives mean nothing to police. And this video proves it.

This isn't just about not knowing what the word "racism" means.
This is a civilized quiet way of saying the same thing alt-Right was saying during Charlottesville. This video is way of denying that racism exists in police departments or anywhere else.

They are actually demanding that people be more grateful, when they've done damn near nothing to weed out the murderers from their ranks.

Very few cops are even vocal when one of their cop brothers are caught on video murdering someone. It's so rare that when a cop does stand against the murderer in their department that person is held up as a hero....because its so damn rare.

For people of color, cops are just another gang.

I get that white officers are going to segregated neighborhoods and ignoring how extreme poverty, and being denied access, and being overcrowded affects people --especially when cities make sure cops are low education on purpose. But, this is total disrespect for people of color when you make a video like this knowing your own group is killing people...and walking away, most of them not even going to court.

I don't care if there 1,000,000 interactions per minute with cops that are good. When they murder they black people were over-represented by 200% in 2016 and 11% short of half of those black people unarmed.

Black Twitter's response to "Blue Racism" ought to be something that means F U and the horse you rode in on with this self-serving, self-centered, ignorant, empathy-less, evil bullsh**

MOONLIGHT WAS ROBBED OF ITS MOMENT

FROM COSMO MAGAZINE ONLINE
"Academy officials sullied Moonlight’s moment in the sun by initially giving the award to the wrong filmLa La Land...in the middle of the La La Land team giving their round of acceptance speeches, they were told that the award had actually gone to Moonlight, and that team was then invited on stage as an afterthought.... "

 * * * * *
Maybe nobody would have straightened this mess out better. It all happened so fast. But I was annoyed with Kimmel's comment (maybe out of nervousness?) then even more annoyed with his total ineptness as far as getting the LA LA LAND cast and crew off the damn stage no matter how gracious some of them were.

Kimmel was supposed to be the host. I thought his brain could have been operating a little bit faster. Then again,

1) I don't like Kimmel period. The way he has that humiliating Hispanic guy on his show  specifically to act like a mascot / dumb ass makes me itch. I usually can't turn him off fast enough when he comes across my screen. 2) It could be I'm just unreasonably pissed that Moonlight's moment wasn't fixed after a commercial break.

Networks have let football games and crap like that go over into another time slot. Many television stations interrupted some seriously expensive commercial slots during a ball game of some sort to follow OJs white bronco down the dang freeway for hours...when there was nothing to really see.

Five minutes to rearrange things and clear the stage for MOONLIGHT's director, cast, and crew wouldn't have cost ABC that dang much.

Stuff Happens.

I think the last minute emergency was handled badly no matter who screwed it up or how. And all that happened was the passing of a wrong envelope because a grown man was acting like a star struck teenager taking pictures of stars. The gaff was simple. The situation was fixed badly.

Someone commented on Charlize Theron's ticked off face during the whole thing. She could just have a case of resting b*tch face, but I think everybody's face should have looked the same way during that snafu that didn't get un-snafu-ed well at all. I know mine would have.

* * * * *
More From Cosmo Magazine

"In the shuffle, host Jimmy Kimmel tried to assuage the clear disappointment of the La La Land’ers saying, “I think you guys should keep it anyway.”
That’s not how this works, Jimmy Kimmel. That’s not how any of this works!
It is both entirely obvious and absolutely necessary to say that this incident is an apt metaphor for thinking about the politics of race and diversity in America. It has taken multiple decades of struggle to even arrive at a universe where a movie with the emotional and artistic complexity of Moonlight, a movie that puts black characters and communities at its center, would have a shot at multiple Oscars.

Then it won the evening's biggest prize of all, but only after being told it lost. And then the film’s creators had to share the stage with
La La Land.* The moment was unfortunate for everyone involved, but it was most unfortunate for
Moonlight....
This debacle brought into stark relief just exactly how messy it is and will continue to be to make traditionally white institutions more diverse and inclusive. In many cases, it will look like black people coming on stage to take away the very awards that white people presumed they would win and prepared themselves to receive.

This is the scary part of what it means for white people to challenge white privilege: it means sometimes they will lose. More than that, it means they will have to endure the humiliation of losing when they were so entirely sure they had won." "

AND THE CROWD SAID, "AMEN."
Warren Beatty is up there in age. But we'll never know if he saw Emma Stone's name on the card, understood that he had the wrong card, but figured LA LA LAND had probably won the BEST PICTURE AWARD anyway.... LIKE EVERY WHITE MEDIA OUTLET PREDICTED ahead of time.

I won't bang on him too hard for that. A lot of people might hae done the same thing, maybe even some black and brown folk if they felt pressured into "the show must go on."  But I can't help but feel that that MAY HAVE BEEN a part of white privilege and white expectancy too. Why hesitate and get the correct card when you're sure of coming whiteness coming out on top all the time.

ANOTHER RESPONSE TO WHITE CALLS FOR PEACE

A black writer wrote about white racist motivations regarding this election
A white women
hearing the word "racist"
as an empty epithet
instead of
a more three dimensional word
with deep multilayered meanings,
wrote a comment calling for
peace and unity
starting with a
'NOT ALL WHITE PEOPLE...'

type comment

As I read her comment on the very next day after the election, I went off a little...

*******************

The white people that voted for Trump are not discernible from white racists enough for there to be any difference.
If anything, black and brown people need to bare their teeth and growl their opinions at white people because being subtle and saying "This hurts us" is just so much whining to MOST OF YOU.

MOST OF YOU WHITE people voted for someone who will literally bring death and destruction down on us. Some of us are afraid to go outside this morning. Some of us are afraid of what to say to our children about lying, bullying, sexism, and bigotry if those children understood 10% of what Donald Trump said on the television as they walked by it.
If you want to lecture somebody about [peace and unity] you better go find some white people to do it to. I don't care WHO you voted for. If you don't open your mouth and beg, growl, plead or reason with people who look like you then YOU are the problem.
White folks need to clean up white folks racist bullsh** on aisle three. When black people do the lecturing and growling a whole bunch of WHITE RACISTS go deaf because they assume "BLACK PEOPLE THINK EVERYTHING IS ABOUT RACE. "
If you think your kind is going pour milkshakes and crap on our heads at the Woolworth's counter AGAIN -- you are mistaken.
This time THE PEACE is 90% on you and pale yours.
Get out there and take care of people that look like you. You keep your lips flapping about peace and unity until you make some headway with people who DO NOT already think like you but DO LOOK like you.
* * * * *
I am sick to death of these irresponsible m%##$!@  f%$$#s --especially since it's clear white women hate themselves almost as much as white men [hate them.]

REPOST: BLACK LIVES MATTER GETS ON STAGE AND BERNIE SANDERS RUNS AWAY

"Event organizers allowed the period of silence [for Mike Brown], as some in the large crowd booed and shouted for the protesters to leave the stage.

Afterward, Marissa Janae Johnson, who identified herself as a leader of the Black Lives Matter chapter in Seattle, asked the crowd to “join us now in holding Bernie Sanders accountable for his actions.” She motioned for Sanders to join her at the microphone.
After several minutes of frantic conversations, Sanders left the stage and greeted people in the large crowd who had turned out to see him. Many chanted his name."

MY TITLE FOR THIS ARTICLE:
BLACK LIVES MATTERS GETS ON STAGE AND BERNIE SANDERS RUNS AWAY

WASHINGTON POST TITLE FOR THIS ARTICLE:

Protesters drove Bernie Sanders from one Seattle stage. At his next stop, 15,000 people showed.

MY INTERPRETATION OF WASHINGTON POST TITLE FOR THIS ARTICLE:

Black Whiners had the audacity to interrupt white male, Bernie Sanders who graciously bowed out and left one Seattle stage. At his next stop, 15,000 white people* that mattered showed (* = 98%)

GOOGLE NEWS ANSWER to a
"BERNIE SANDERS" query on 8 9 2015

By the way, this negatively portrayed news event was started by two whole women from Black Lives Matter in Seattle. A man who wants to be president ran away from two rather small, shouting black women.

The initial approach wasn't great. But the most important thing about this is that Sanders couldn't handle it.

One of the first things Marissa Janae Johnson demanded was a 4.5 minute of silence to represent the 4.5 hours Mike Brown's body lay in the street on the one year anniversary of his death.  Listen to the "most liberal city in America's" fragile white response" in the background.

The initial "disruption" by these two Black Lives Matter representatives in the video below truly was not great. The disruption itself? Yes, that's a good thing. But the squeaky screams in defense of attitude were not great. They're young. And they came off as "too young."  But they're OUT THERE and they are learning. It'll be better next time.

But if Bernie Sanders cannot overcome a rough start
by two whole Black Lives Matter demonstrators
combined with dumb non-responsiveness
from an inept event organizer,
then follow up
by RESPONDING on Black Lives Matter issues NOW
as people are DYING at hands of police NOW,
then Sanders doesn't have what it takes to be president.
You have to have good ideas and leadership skills if you want to be president. I can't imagine Barack Obama in parallel, non-racial situation letting two whole demonstrators be handledso clumsily right in front of him, then run. I cannot picture it at all.

And when you listen to the video, make sure you listen to the comments being made by "white liberals" about the Black Lives Matter protesters. Listen hard. Listen to the video more than once

The traditional republican party hasn't been this weak in a long, long time. They've got numbers but they aren't pulling in one direction like they used to. The Tea Party is pulling one way. Donald Trump is pulling at all the seams he can every time he opens his mouth. The republicans are falling to pieces. This is the time for #BlackLivesMatter and black political interest groups to see if they can make or break a democratic candidate.

ZACH HAMMOND FAMILY: WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE FOR WHITE PEOPLE KILLED BY POLICE?

Zachary Hammond, a white teen, was shot to death over a "drug sting" that involved 10 grams of marijuana. Police appear to imply that Hammond was shot dead because he used his car as a weapon to run officer(s) down.

However, a new private autopsy appears to show that the bullets did not enter Hammond from the front. It appears he was shot from the side instead.

Zachary's case has not made a big splash in national news. Hiding their irritation over this lack of attention fairly badly, this is what the Hammond's had a lawyer say on their behalf:

It’s sad, but I think the reason is, unfortunately, the media and our government officials have treated the death of an unarmed white teenager differently than they would have if this were a death of an unarmed black teen,” Bland told The Washington Post this week. “The hypocrisy that has been shown toward this is really disconcerting.”

He added: “The issue should never be what is the color of  the victim. The issue should be: Why was an unarmed teen gunned down in a situation where deadly force was not even justified?”
Eric Bland
Attorney Representing Zach Hammond's Parents

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/08/06/an-unarmed-white-teen-was-shot-dead-by-police-his-family-asks-where-is-the-outrage/?tid=pm_national_pop_b

Their son is shot down like a dog and this is what they reach for a bottle of white entitlement, guzzle it down, and have a representative start spewing.

As you may have guessed, when I first read this, the vast majority of my sympathy for the Hammond family just leaked out through the soles of my feet and into the ground.  Be aware that when I first read the caption of the article I had plenty of sympathy for a young man killed for nothing. So the ground beneath my feet got soaked to quicksand consistency with the sympathy that poured out of me due to when I read what about poor, white us.

However, some of my empathy came back when I thought a little harder about what is being said here and why. They want their son's death raised up. I understand that. And while the method by which they are complaining about this lack of visibility is the usual black preferential treatment schtick.  I  understand that too. I've lived around white people my entire life. How could I not understand it.
I just wish the Hammond family's hard-heartedness wasn't so very typical.

But the truth is, if I was white and 90% of my neighbors are white with the 10% that aren't white were usually silent on race or doing a mime-agreement of whatever I say when racial subjects come up, I'd be thinking that white experience is everybody's experience as well. And I, as a white person, would be thinking that black people, brown people, and Native American people are not having white experience because they are doing life wrong, too.

I'd probably be thinking the very same things the Hammond family attorney is expressing here, if my son was dead and I was white. Yes, I'd probably believe my white son's death doesn't matter because those people, those privileged black people, get all the attention just because they are black.

Maybe I'd be tired of black people playing the race card and grabbing all the attention for themselves all the time.
Maybe I'd be as firmly biased in favor of whites and whiteness while claiming colorblindness. Maybe I'd be executing and reproducing racism without any consciously racist thoughts too. Maybe I'd be the very subject of  a book called "Racism Without Racists" without even knowing it.

Okay. I've exaggerated a little bit here, for effect. But the racial-numb-skull routine and soft shoe black people bashing that attends it,  has gotten on my last nerve.  And I'm not confused about what the colorblind and #AllLivesMatter people are saying.

I'm not white. Therefore I see race just fine. 'I am colorblind' which can usually be translated into 'I think everybody is white just like me' doesn't even begin to compute for me.

What's more, I think Zachery might still be alive if Zachery's parents and thousands of white parents just like them acknowledged race and understood that #BlackLivesMatter means "Black Lives Matter TOO" because police choices of who to murder are too often based on race.  And if Hammond's parents and thousands of white people just like them cared about people that don't look like them in an empathetic way, they'd notice then understand that police killing any demographic with impunity means MY DEMOGRAPHIC is in danger as well.

Empathy is a logical, emotion operated, self-interest if you actually stop and think about it.  And the Hammonds, among many others, are not operating it very well.

According to the Washington Post article quoted above, so far this year 25% of the people shot by police have been black while blacks are only 12 to 13% of the population. That is, 100% more of black people have been shot by police than is representative of the black population in the United States.

And when you look at unarmed black people the disparity based on race gets even worse.

Since 2015 began, according to an interactive news website run by "The Guardian" 148* unarmed people have been killed by police.
If race had no impact on who police are shooting,  18 of those 148 unarmed dead via police would be black as blacks are 12% of the population and 102 would be white as white people are 69% of the population.
(*data as of August 8, 2015)

Instead of 18, so far this year  55* unarmed black people
have died at the hands of police. And instead of 102, only 61* unarmed white people died at the hands of police this year.

(*data as of August 8, 2015)

Conclusion 1 :  Three times as many black people are among the unarmed dead as there should be.

Conclusion 2: Whiteness appears to act as a bullet proof vest when out of control, violent police officers are around.

Conclusion 3: Zach Hammond appears to have been one exceptionally unlucky white male.

Conclusion 4: White people just like Hammond are destined to get unluckier and unluckier for so long as #BlackLivesMatter isn't taken more seriously by a wider range of people.

The police have had lots of practice moving with impunity because there has been little or no outrage from the white community over black deaths until Trayvon Martin Verdict and the birth of  #BlackLivesMatter two days later.

And post #BlackLivesMatter the white outrage over the deaths of black people is about 10 to 20% of what it will need to be effect change in our criminal justice system as white people
are 69% of our country's population.

So here is one response to the implied question, "WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE FOR MY WHITE PEOPLE LIKE MY SON, WHO HAS BEEN KILLED UNJUSTLY BY POLICE?"
'It’s sad, but I think the reason is, unfortunately, the media and our government officials have treated the death of an unarmed white teenager' in the same invisible manner as any black person who was killed by police prior to #BlackLivesMatter  because Hammond's parents, as represented by Eric Bland, and most of their white neighbors didn't give a damn about police shooting people unjustly when the injustice was based on race.
DebLynn

The lesson for all the Hammonds out there is kindergarten simple. If you care about injustice everywhere, even when it's based on race, you reduce injustice everywhere.

If Zach Hammonds white parents and white grandparents and all their white neighbors had been concerned about police murdering black people sans consequence for decades,WE WOULD ALL have a check and balances system in place that doesn't involve police departments, prosecutors, and judges circle-jerk investigating themselves after somebody winds up dead over something as  stupid as 10 grams of marijuana that'll probably be legal in all 50 states before 15 years has passed.

When you refuse to wink at injustice happening to people who don't look like you, you decrease the chances that injustice comes knocking on your door.  #BlackLivesMatter supporters who are black, white, asian, latino, native american, middle eastern etc., all of us, figured this out long ago.

So I can tell Zach Hammond's family and their representative, Eric Bland, exactly where the outrage for their son is.  The national outrage over the death of their son is probably located in the very same place as their own outrage for  Yvette Smith, Rekia Boyd, and Natasha McKenna and 99% of  unarmed black people, male or female, killed prior to the Trayvon Martin Verdict and #BlackLivesMatter.

All that outrage is mixed together, sitting in a red, white, and blue box marked,
"TSK-TSK IF THEY HAD JUST OBEYED THE LAW THEY'D STILL BE ALIVE."  A box that wouldn't exist without their silent, colorblind complicity newly shoved under the #AllLivesMatter banner.

I suggest that the Hammond family stop playing their race card --even if it is always an ace when you're white-- because I've seen more coverage of their son's death by #BlackLivesMatter activists and black websites than anywhere else.  And the #AllLivesMatter "activists" (ha-ha) that the Hammonds appear to have aligned themselves with are nowhere to be found.

Or did I miss the #AllLivesMatter March for their son?

The lack of concern shown by the #AllLivesMatter crowd shows "the woke" just one more time that #AllLivesMatter has but one concern. They want to make sure that nobody notices that police are shooting unarmed black people, brown people, and native american people at such high numbers simply because they easily observable to be NOT WHITE.

Race Matters.
Even if #AllLivesMatter does decide to march, protest, or do something other than e-race racial disparities in all these police killings, a decision to ignore what is happening to people that don't look like you is deadly.

Time will prove us right on this.  You cannot give a group like the police absolute power and not have them become accustomed to using that power at will. They've already started killing white homeless people. It's a matter of time before these policemen reach a little too deeply into the white middle class. White supremacy based or not, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Police will start "feeling themselves" more every single time one of them walks away after something as blatantly wrong as the killing of Eric Garner, Natasha McKenna, Rekia Boyd, Sandra Bland, and Sam DuBose.

But how many middle class white people will have to die per year before the unchecked power of the police is perceived as a problem? 200? 500? 1000? And how many multiple thousands of black people will be dying per year when that happens?  It's likely that the rest of us will always be dying at a rate 10 to 100x the white middle class, right?

It's time for a tough love response to Hammonds parents and everyone like them.
So, somebody sound the alarm.  White allies have clean up to do in their lane.

DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, DROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT (The Call For Peaceful Protests)

I don't often speak for the entire race of black people. But I'm going to make an exception today. I'm going to speak for the 99%

WOOLWORTH'S LUNCH COUNTER SIT-IN
A couple of white protesters out front

Practicing  For A Peaceful Sit-In

 Dear White People,

This kind of peaceful protest isn't coming again. You can forget that. Drop this entitlement on the ground and leave it. Drop it like it's hot. Drop it right now.

THE 2015 VERSION OF A PEACEFUL PROTEST

If the white people calling for a peaceful protest want a peaceful protest, then those white people need to get up and get out there in the protest, and in large numbers. You white callers for peace represent nearly 3/4 of the population. So you better be 3/4 of the protest if you want to part your lips about a peaceful one.

That's not to say that the majority black Baltimore Protests were peaceful for days and days until they walked through the white neighborhoods. But more is expected of the white callers for peace in the 21st century. You're going to have to do more than poo-poo some of your tribe attacking  blacks, and other people of color, after the fact.

BALTIMORE  FREDDIE GRAY PROTEST
Up to 05% of white folk being interested in race justice, interested enough to protest isn't a large enough group to keep the police from going ape-sh*t on people not white.

The 20th century photos that we've all seen of buses burning and drinks being poured on heads show us this, clearly.  In the 21st century, things aren't so different. A grown white man in a police uniform will claim that he was "scared" because a five year old threw a pebble, or he "thought he saw a gun," or a couple of teenage boys run up, open handed and arms out, to stop him from pounding on a 14 year old girl.

If the 2015 protest crowd is going to be peaceful, it's going to have to be at least ...oh say...um....50% white as opposed to .05% white ala the 1960s. It is this that will make predominantly white police departments, across the nation, de-thuggerize their eyesight, which will in turn make them less likely to become violent.

The pictures below are what civil rights protests need to look like a lot more often. And if you can't walk and protest the abuses you see, then write. And if you not a writer, then talk -- tell racist Uncle Joe to shut his pie-hole on the racism at the Christmas dinner table in front of everybody.  Do SOMETHING.

Because this time? The "peaceful" is on you.
