TERRY CREWS EXPECTED SUPPORT FROM BLACK MEN AFTER REVEALING SEXUAL ASSAULT

"During an interview on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live earlier this week, the actor, who claims he was groped by Hollywood agent Adam Venit in the presence of his wife, shared that Black women showed up for him the most. Venit denies the allegation.
“I have to say this: the people that surprised me the most were Black women,” said Crews. “Black men did not want any part of it.”
“All my support came from Black women, straight up. And that’s kind of wild. It shocked me. It shocked my family,” he told the show’s host, Andy Cohen."

Well, this isn't shocking to me. I suspect this is not shocking to most black feminists either. And it probably shouldn't be shocking to any feminist of any color because...

Toxic Masculinity says, "A man is never supposed to be weak. A man is never supposed to be a victim. And a man is especially never supposed to be a victim of a crime that lowly women are victims of -- not when you're a big strong alpha-male."

And America is a Toxic Masculinity soaked culture, and that includes Black American Culture.
When a man has an unchallenged Toxic Masculinity World View, he's going to feel afraid and ashamed of the very thought that their own masculinity might crumble if he is sexually harassed or assaulted like a woman. Men have been trained from birth to be afraid of being female-like, which is why little boys call one another "sissy" and "p*ssy" when they are growing up.

And men who are ashamed and afraid of their masculinity crumbling are not going to help other men who have openly admitted to being sexually harassed or assaulted when to do so is akin to acknowledging that this other man is no longer "a real man."

Toxic masculinity doesn't just hurt women, it hurts men. It hurts men first and deepest. And to be more specific,
Toxic Masculinity is why men, especially black men, have unacknowledged problems with emotional stress and suicide. And risks associated with isolation and suicide are further exacerbated when black men cannot have one another's backs if the other man is hurt or crying-- due to Toxic Masculinity.

So no, I'm not shocked at all that black men didn't have Terry Crews back.

Crews has declared himself a feminist, which is probably strike one with the Ashy-s and Hoteps. That's part of the reason he's getting so little support from black men.

But I know deep in bone marrow that the declaration that he is a feminist is simultaneously a declaration that Crews is sure that his masculinity comes from inside him and not circumstances.
And Terry Crews being a feminist is one of the major reasons why he is the only(?) high profile black man brave enough to say he'd been sexually assaulted.

Crews' bravery is a service to little black boys everywhere.

Like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's book title says, "We Should All Be Feminists" It's a short read. Go out buy it for the men in your life, today.

THE ANTIDOTE TO TOXIC MASCULINITY: SELF-CONFIDENT MASCULINITY, LOVE, AND PASSING IT ON

Headline

Instructor Telling A Student ‘It’s OK to cry’ Is A Lesson Not Taught In Any School

"Pain is a part of life. You cannot escape feeling pain from time to time, be that emotional or physical. However, you can choose what the pain you experience will be for; for growing or for collapsing; what direction will you grow at."
https://www.lifecoachcode.com/2016/08/05/instructor-its-ok-to-cry/

Don’t run away from your emotions. Go through them!

Look at the boys in the background as you watch the video below. They are not laughing or teasing or looking ashamed of the boy that is crying.

Either they haven't been taught toxic masculinity or they are unlearning it here. You can tell that the talk this man is having with this crying boy is normal in this room

But it isn't in most homes. And it's not just men teaching toxic masculinity. Women, especially Pick-Me-S, are patriarchy soaked and spreading the poison too.

The thing men need to realize this particular feminist focus is this: Killing off Toxic Masculinity will one day benefit men 10 times as much as it will women.

POLAR OPPOSITES ON RACE BUT BROTHERS-IN-ARMS REGARDING WOMEN

He was known as the Galveston Giant—a boxer who fought his way toward the first world heavyweight title held by an African-American. But in 1912, Jack Johnson became something else: a wanted man. Accused of violating the Mann Act, which forbade transporting a woman across state lines for “immoral purposes,” [Johnson]’s relationships with white women got him in trouble with the law.
Now, 72 years after his death, President Trump has pardoned Johnson. The pardon took place during an Oval Office ceremony during which Trump referred to Johnson as enduring “what many view as a racially-motivated injustice.” President Obama’s administration had considered pardoning Johnson, too, but declined to do so due to allegations he physically abused women...
https://www.history.com/news/white-slave-mann-act-jack-johnson-pardon

In the past whenever I saw anything about Jack Johnson, I usually turned the page pretty quickly.

Regardless of any successes Johnson had, no matter how many times he told the white man who wanted to put a boot on his neck to go screw himself, the fact remains that this man was addicted to white skin on women like a crack addict loves cocaine.

Don't get it twisted. This man wasn't arrested for interracial dating. Jack Johnson's case isn't an earlier version of  THE LOVING CASE which helped overturn racist miscegenation laws. Johnson got arrested for relentlessly chasing a significant number of white women.

This debate is not about who loves who or what their skin color difference might be. This is about a black man screwing white women as a symbol of his own, individual, personal, racial freedom.

And according to a Paula Giddings book I read,Jack Johnson wasn't first to use white women in this way.
According to Giddings, one of the reasons the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) fell apart was because white women saw black men as their "freedom" from gender oppression while black men saw white women as freedom from "racial oppression"
Needless to say, this caused fractures in the black solidarity. Eventually SNCC would oust white people from the organization. The re-alignments based on sex are rarely ever mentioned as part of the reason.
And I don't know that this has changed much for some of the simple minded among us in the black community

Google Search: Black Athletes And White Wives

However, the reason a lot of most men, including black men, see nothing wrong with a "successful" man collecting women to screw like one might collect  expensive watches is because a lot of men still see:
1) women as objects
2) success as getting rich enough to be able to do whatever you want.
And for way too many black men, over the decades, it appears that being able to screw a white women if they want was their most important freedom.

I mean, it would have to be a black man's most important freedom to have sex with white women and date them in 1912.  Lynching was all the rage for white people in that era. Furthermore, the KKK wasn't pretending to be some fringe hate group back then either. It was damn near a political party.

Yes, Jack Johnson went to jail on trumped up charges created by white supremacists. However, as it was 1912 when he was going through all these shenanigans. I'm surprised he didn't die for this little white women addiction of his. However, he was "only" in jail for 10 months.  Johnson wound up dying later in a car crash on his way to see another boxer fight.

But you know what? I could be completely off the mark as to Johnson's motives because it also occurs to me that Jack Johnson may have screwed white women the way soldiers invade a country and violate the women of that foreign nation.

Not that Johnson raped anybody, but the violation of  "their
women" is standard operating procedure for men when they invade other countries because they want to send the men that they are defeating a unmistakable message. And that message is,
"You are powerless to stop me."
Part of white men raping black women who were slaves was a kind of messaging between groups of men too.

I explain all this to day that Jack Johnson dating white women --in a very public manner--  and having sex with them could have been his way of telling the white men of 1912,
"I'm putting it to your women and you can't do a thing about it."
...Except white men could do something about it. And they did.

White men put him in jail. But his "only" being there for 10 months in early 1900s tells me that yesterday and today aren't that different. Johnson must have been making money for a white man somewhere.

Making money for a white men is the only way I can figure out a black man lets it be commonly known that he sleeps with white women (or rapes white and light women in Cosby's case) between 1880 and 1980 and isn't put to death for it...or at least put in prison for life.

Even so, Jack Johnson pushed back against the white establishment at every turn to let some black folks tell it. Maybe he did --except when he was chasing white women for sex. Or maybe he was just being a simple-minded sexist man-child who believed that talent, success, and power means you do what you want when you want to whoever you want, with white women being used as trophy f*ck buddies instead of trophy wives.

...like somebody else we know who lives in the White House

TRUMP & ALL THE WIVES HE REPORTEDLY CHEATED ON

Regardless of Johnson's true motives, he undermined his own black legacy with addiction to sex with white women

- whether his wanting to have sex with white women was actually  adesire to consume and get close to whiteness in an intimate way
OR
- it was a display of hatred for white men in a very Eldridge Cleaver sort of way, minus the cowardice of rape.
Either way, Jack Johnson sounds like something I'd scrape off the bottom of my shoe, much like Aget Evil Orange.

The two them, Trump and Johnson, both appear to be men that use what we now call "Toxic Masculinity" to define their success.

"I'm rich and powerful
so now I can do what I want
to anybody I want."
This is a terrible way to view and use power. But this is a different story for a different day.
In the meantime, I think we should all find it virtually impossible to defend any black man who beats women --especially if the wife he beat was a black woman.  In this case, however, it is even more important to me that some black folks are trying to get me to care about a black man who likely wouldn't spit on a black woman if she were on fire.

Sorry. That's not happening. That's never happening. I don't care how big his personal successes were.

Besides, Trump and Johnson may be on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to race and racism. And black folks are proud of that, as they should be. But it seems to me Trump and Johnson are on the very same side of the fence when it comes to sexism, misogyny and Toxic Masculinity

--which is why Trump liked this ugly man enough to pardon him despite Johnson being black.

All of this is why I'm proud of President Obama for declining to pardoned Jack Johnson. Barack Obama is married to a black woman he respects and raising daughters he expects other men to respect.  As he is a black feminist father I would have expected nothing less from him.
FEMINIST-IN-CHIEF: BARACK OBAMA ON BEING A FEMINIST FATHER

One day black men (and Pick Me-s that follow them over a cliff) are going to go as silent on Jack Johnson as they are on their ex-Hero Black Panther Eldridge Cleaver.

In fact, I think it's happening already. Congratulations to all of us because I don't see nearly as many black people celebrating Johnson's pardon as I do white people in the news patting themselves on the back for demonstrating their racial fairness.
In the meantime, since there's no such thing as being pro-black when you only care about half the race, I'm going to sit here being glad that it was the latest white supremacist president that wound up pardoning Jack Johnson.

Some black folks can celebrate with Trump and Trump Buddy Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) if they want to. All I can say to that is, "Good luck and goodbye." But, I'm putting Jack Johnson right back in that box marked "All Your Skinfolk Are Not Your Kinfolk."

WHITE MALE ANGER IS STEEPED IN A LIE

Feeling Rebloggy

    Ijeoma Oluo wrote
I’m reading an email from a white man.
It is about 15 paragraphs of poorly written vitriol, telling me in far too many words about how wrong I am. About everything. I’m wrong about feminism. It’s unnecessary. And by the way, the wage gap doesn’t exist. I’m even more wrong about racism. There is no more racism. It’s been over a very long time and maybe if people like me would just get over the past we’d be motivated to get off of our asses and get real jobs.
As proof of how wrong I am, he’s included links to youtube videos made by other white men saying pretty much the exact same thing as him. He has also inserted a few graphs. He consistently calls me “Ms. Oluo” and reiterates a few times that he “means no disrespect” but it is clear from his insistence that I read all of his horrible paragraphs and that I “learn a little more” about “my people” that he means every bit of disrespect his poorly phrased sentences are capable of conveying and more.
He suggests that I try being “less angry” as if it is not anger that propelled him through a google search of my name, to my website, to my contact page, then to his email, and then through the writing of a billion paragraphs complete with charts and footnotes. He says “less angry” as if I am not currently adding his email into a file with countless other long-winded missives, dismissals and violent threats from white men who decided to take the time out of their day to let me know in sometimes very disturbing ways that they need me to be “less angry.”
...But white male anger is steeped in a lie.
It is fighting for what they were never going to have. For the promises that were never going to be fulfilled. White men are the only people allowed to fully believe in the American dream and perhaps that is the cruelest thing to have ever been done to them and the world that has to suffer their anger as they refuse to let go of a fantasy that we were never allowed to imagine ourselves in.

White men who shoot up schools and workplaces are not murderous monsters, or mindless thugs. They are “lovesick” or “misunderstood” or “tragic.” Hundreds of thousands of words are dedicated to finding the reasons why someone with so much promise could have fallen so far.
But how much promise was there really?
How much promise is there in a life where you are told that all you have to do is exist in order to inherit a kingdom.  How much promise is there in a life where your mediocrity is constantly applauded and every hero looks like you and every love interest is a supermodel, but at the end of the day you will be working in a cubicle with everyone else and your only consolation is that you will be making $1.50 an hour more than the women and people of color in your office...

ZORA NEALE HURSTON AND THE MIS-EDUCATION OF THE NEGRESS

Never forget that a fair percentage of white people will defend the people that beat us and kill us for not being white

Never forget that a fair percentage of men, including black men, will defend the people that beat us and kill us for not being men.

"The law said he wasn't guilty, so he's not guilty"

I fully expect white people to say things like this when black people they don't really see as people, don't really see as having full humanity, are beaten and killed by police officers for things like not obeying massa fast enough or a car back firing some distance away.

But it takes unmitigated gaul and self-hatred for some black people, --black men and penis pandering pick-me-s that will follow them absolutely anywhere-- to use the same words that white racists use on us to defend men like Bill Cosby, Nate Parker, Chris Brown, Ray Rice.

Make no mistake, the sexism and misogyny in the black community is likely just as deadly to black women as white supremacy is to black people as a whole.

I've often started and stopped working on a comparison of white cop murder victims and black female domestic violence victims. I keep telling myself I've stopped before I've finished  because of some small problem collecting accurate data here and there.

The real reason I keep stopping is because it'll break my heart to see more black women dead of domestic violence at the hands of black men trying to prove a false masculinity than there are black people dead at hands of white police.

Too many non-feminist black people think that sexism and misogyny is harmless -- as evidenced by the lack of outcry against things like Dave Chappelle and his joke about a Superhero Rapist that gets his power from raping women.

If this level of misogyny is simply called "tasteless" much like white audiences do/did when a white comic goes "racist" to get laughs, then what does this say about the status of black women in the black community?

To me, it says black women aren't seen anywhere near equal to black men and that black men need to be watched as hard as we watch white people when it comes to the images they create of us.

To me this says, it is not surprising that a lot of black history written by black men erases black women's contributions and erases the flaws and questionable behavior of black male heroes, like Frederick Douglass -- who appears to have moved a white woman into his black wife's house after that same black wife saved him from slavery.

Over the last decade, Shonda Rhimes' shattering glass ceilings in Hollywood have allowed Ava DuVernay, Viola Davis, Regina King, and Taraji P Henson to come through and produce and be leading ladies. Television shows like HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER and QUEEN SUGAR have made me realize how very, very little black men in Hollywood have done for black women --especially if they aren't light-skinned women.

If non-feminist black men in Hollywood can very publicly refuse to stand for all black women instead of just the light-skinned ones they can sexually objectify, then what does that say about the rest of the black community?

I know what it says to me. It says to me that black women need to say to black men "ouch" and "stop" and "come correct or get away from me" a lot more often.

It says to me that black women need black history books written by black feminists and a specific book, that's yet to be written, called MIS-EDUCATION OF THE NEGRESS that addresses white supremacy in the country at large and male supremacy in the black community at the same time.

And we need to encourage black boys to read these black women's history books so that they'll look up women and also restrict their admiration to men like Kofi Siriboe ....instead of admiring and defending black men of questionable character simply because they got past the white gatekeepers and got rich in this industry or that one.

We, as the black community, have to do better.

AM I ONE OF THE GOOD ONES?

A conversation between black men that hits men's responsibility in the age of #MeToo and #TimesUp on dismantling Toxic Masculinity without ever actually using the term "Toxic Masculinity."

The video below is a good example of a good first step for men

Feeling Rebloggy

Over the past several months, sexual assault has become a topic of discussion in workplaces, at barber shops, at dinner tables, and on social media.
Accusations of well-known men who have been accused of sexually violating their peers, in Hollywood and beyond, and the advent of the #MeToo movement, has prompted a necessary public chat on male dominance and sexual violence. Most of the public dialogue, however, has been led by women. But where are the men?
In this episode of CASSIUS’s editorial conversation, Group Think: Rethinking Manhood, we’ve asked several men to rethink manhood, consent, sexual violence, sexuality and self love.

MINE IS BIGGER THAN YOURS: TOXIC MASCULINITY'S ABILITY TO START NUCLEAR WAR

Masculinity is not inherently a bad thing, but when "masculinity" becomes synonymous with power-over others, synonymous with a man must compete and win in order to be seen as a man, no matter what  comes at him, that is when "normal" masculinity becomes "toxic masculinity."

More often than not when people talk about TOXIC MASCULINITY they start off talking about men trying execute power-over women, men trying to dominate women. That then leads to how toxic masculinity feeds into rape culture. And that's all important.

But what is more important is how TOXIC MASCULINITY functions between men. And I say that's more important because men have a lot more social and political power than women, worldwide. And yesterday, we saw just how deadly TOXIC MASCULINITY can get on the world stage.

North Korea's Kim Jong Un made a competition based  'my dick is as big as anybody's' statement during his New Year's Day address when he said he has a nuclear button on his desk that he can push at any time.

The leader of this country, TrumplethinSkin Toxic Masculinity Champ of the planet, promptly tweeted something in response that meant 'my dick is bigger than yours'

The main stream press promptly reported that many people were upset. And maybe that's true. But most of the people I talk to day to day figure the entire world has to know Trump is mentally and emotionally no older than he sounds, approximately 12 years old. All world leaders have to know nothing he says means much of anything.

But this man, unfit to be your local dog catcher, does have access to the nuclear codes.

That's why most of the black folk I know are just trying to live long enough to see the first black superhero movie, PANTHER.

All jokes aside though, I'm hopeful that we will live to see the end of the Trump presidency. I'm hoping Mueller will take him away or he'll get bored and leave. More importantly, it took so long for Trump to respond to Kim Jong Un's address some say it is clear that Trump didn't get briefed on what the North Korean leader said.

Some are saying this is an indication that white house staff keep provoking information away from the Toxic-Masculinity-Sufferer-In-Chief, that the Orange McTwitterwit didn't know that Kim said anything until he watched Faux Fox News.  And that gives me hope that Trump is not totally in charge, that someone will stop him from killing us all.

I'm hoping leaders of other countries are seeing the same thing and will just ride the next three years out if the Mueller investigation doesn't end his presidency like it should.

CHARLIE ROSE ACCUSED BY EIGHT WOMEN OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT & OTHERS HAVE WITNESSED OTHER ABUSES

Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell address Charlie Rose sexual misconduct allegations

Gayle King said,
"I really am still reeling. I got an hour and 42 minutes of sleep last night. Both my son and my daughter called me, Oprah called me and said, 'Are you OK?' I am not OK. After reading that article in the Post, it was deeply disturbing, troubling and painful for me to read. That said, I think we have to make this matter to women – the women that have spoken up, the
gayle king
women who have not spoken up because they're afraid. I'm hoping that now they will take the step to speak out, too. This becomes a moment of truth. You know, I've enjoyed a friendship and a partnership with Charlie for the past five years. I've held him in such high regard and I'm really struggling because how do you – what do you say when someone that you deeply care about has done something that is so horrible? How do you wrap your brain around that? I'm really grappling with that. That said, Charlie does not get a pass here. He doesn't get a pass from anyone in this room. We are all deeply affected. We are all rocked by this.

WHEN SEXUAL HARASSERS RETALIATE

Harvey Weinstein, after being accused by dozens and dozens of white women of sexual harassment and threatening some careers, only chose to specifically attempt to discredit Lupita N'yongo, the only black woman to accuse him of sexual harassment at the time.

In my mind it is likely he chose to go after N'yongo  because she is perceived as the weakest, socially speaking. And she's the weakest socially, likely the easiest to discredit, because she's black.

It's like the man that grabbed Terry Crews genitals saw the same thing in Crews' blackness, social weakness as compared to white people.

Brett Ratner, after being accused of sexual harassment by six women, he chooses to counter-sue the one woman who isn't rich and isn't famous. And some are saying that's likely because she's the least financially able to fight back.  I guess it is too bad/so sad for Ratner that she has supporters.

Predators prey on those they perceive of as weak.

Sexual harassers have historically chosen those they know (knew) they can sexually blackmail into silence.

So the acts of retaliation described above are not surprising. These sexual blackmailers were crossed, and they followed through on their implied threat.

Men have been getting away with these implied threats, this blackmailing  of women (and children) into silence for decades and decades because their victims, and everybody else, knew these powerful men of Hollywood could crush a woman's career with barely any effort at all.

Everybody in Hollywood knew, men and women. The casting couch used to be a big joke. (The couch where male producers and directors reportedly forced actresses to have sex with him before he supported her career. The joke was, most of the time these men did no such thing.)

Today, not that much has changed. The only victims the Hollywood elite might not have known about were the pedophiles (I hope)

Despite all that's been said so far, a lot of male people aren't getting a deep enough message on what's been happening in Hollywood and in workplaces across the country.

Not that I believe this at all, but George Clooney and Matt Damon were on Good Morning America talking about how shocked they were about all the women coming forward about being sexually harassed. I think they knew and just took sexual harassment lightly. Maybe I can buy that they didn't know how deep it went.

Think about this: Damon's good film-writing buddy Ben Affleck grabbed a woman's breast while on camera. Do you know how cavalier all these men have to be about sexual blackmail --whether they participate in it or not -- for Affleck to have done breast grabbing while he knew he was being filmed?

Clueless as usual, Damon said, he was going to teach his girls to have good self-esteem. (Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpECVHzrw8Q)

Kidnapping, extortion, and blackmail all involve victim participation in the crime. "Self-esteem" doesn't have much, if anything to do with it.

Bad "self-esteem" isn't what landed these women in these situations. Men put these women (and men) in these situations

Predator men trapped their victims. These victims, mostly women, made split second decisions on whether or not they would throw away 1 year, 2 years, or 7 years of effort trying to make it big in Hollywood by making a powerful man mad AFTER that repulsive man physically trapped them.

Other women didn't even get to make a decision, they were simply present and trapped when a man ejaculated as they walked into a room.

There was a lot of noise about a Saturday Night Live skit last week because the comedian observed that a lot of the accused men were Jewish. I'm not sure about that. The thing I did notice though is that most of the men were short or extremely unattractive (even when they were younger.)

That is, these sexual harassers were not alpha-males in school.

To me, almost all of them look like the loser guys who hoped they'd be rich one day and be able to "get all the girls" they wanted. Now that they have waged patriarchal competition in this life and won, they expect to be paid back for their high school suffering in vaginas and breasts.

These repulsive men, repulsive inside and out, expected their money and power to make them attractive, to make them the winners-- and it didn't work out nearly as well as they thought it would.

Hence, the hostile aspect of sexual blackmail a.k.a. sexual harassment.

To me it is obvious that all levels of sexual blackmail, from level 1 to level 10, have to taken seriously enough for the law to be able to take action. Right now, there's a lot of noise about sexual harassment. But in truth, nothing has changed. Legal action is only being taken against those who crossed the line into sexual assault...and fairly significant sexual assault.

President Bush, the elder, reaching out from his wheelchair to pat a woman's bottom with gnarly, liver-spotted old hand is still pretty much, a laughing matter for some.

I think
all of us ought to be keeping our hands to ourselves or facing assault charges.

If we are not keeping our hands to ourselves, then all of us are not keeping our hands to ourselves. So if a woman can't file charges regarding a man touching her ass. then slapping a disgusting old man's dentures out of his mouth ought to be an option.

The rule of law needs to apply to men same as it does women. For now, it really doesn't.

BOTH MEN AND WOMEN KEPT SERIAL SEXUAL HARASSERS SAFE FOR DECADES

Truthfully, I was a little irritated on the front side of reading the article below.

The author spends some time talking about how some men are confused and scared that there are half a dozen women in their past, out there somewhere, furious because he asked some woman out on a date or said "Hey, new dress? Looks nice."

However, the author goes on to say how irritating for men to be so damn clueless about the difference between an implied threat due to a power differential and a flirtation.

To be honest I wasn't so much irritated that the author had sympathy for men, including her husband who said, "I didn't know it was this bad." I was irritated that men are married to women and have daughters and just didn't give a crap until now. How else do you not know?

For example, it really burned me up to listen to Matt Damon  --who knows Weinstein and had to have heard stories about Weinstein-- say he's going to teach his daughter to avoid all this by having self-respect.
Some random guy on social media said of Louis C.K.  "It was 10 years ago" Even  if that statement about "10 years ago" was true, even if the foulness leaking out of Louis C.K. wasn't continuing to spew forth about things he did less than 10 months ago, I'm trying to figure out what these jackasses are thinking?

It's just so clear that Louis C.K. and a bunch of these men think statutory rape is nothing. And I don't just mean the predators that have been exposed either.  Entire literary houses, entire movie studios thought the book LOLITA was not just okay but genius and then made a movie of it.

I mean, was I supposed to be seeing something other than a grown man wanting to have sex with girl child who acted like a child so badly that he married her mother?

Was I not supposed to be throwing up in my mouth as I watched this?

(OH MY GOD, I had no idea this girl was supposed to be 12 until a few minutes ago. The actress was like 20 or so. OMG I couldn't figure out why she was acting too young...I thought she was just a bad actress. OMG. And the author of the book LOLITA had a friendship with a pedophile that admitted he was one.)

All the artistic crap you hear about this book is just that --crap.

Rapist, Lolita, Mother
And the white men of Hollywood were just about to do it again.

The movie I LOVE YOU DADDY was due out in the next week or so, but it was just shelved due to the sexual harassment accusations against C.K. Apparently the movie is about his character thinking it's okay to pursue underage girls....until some dude he admires starts pursuing his half naked daughter in the film
-- which really seems to be
art imitating life in Louis C.K.s case

I hope his career is over forever. He is foul in a lot more ways than one.

But I doubt that's going to be the case.

A lot of powerful white men are losing their jobs. And that never happens, as the article below says. But they'll get new jobs when this dies down when "Well...that was a long time ago" can be said without too many people getting up in arms about it.

More importantly, I haven't heard one thing about changing laws so you can put a sexual harasser in jail before he's a sexual assault-er and/or rapist. I haven't heard one thing about extending the statute of limitations on rape and/or attempted rape. I haven't heard anything about standardizing definitions of sexual harassment, sexual assault, or any introduction of the blackmail aspect of sexual harassment.

A fair percentage of the white men reading article after article after article think the Sexual Harassment Scandal now spreading beyond Hollywood is some sort of "political correctness" thing because they are empathyless.

But the thing I liked about the article below --eventually-- is that she talks about how women participated in keeping these predators afloat without victim blaming.
There were women who said, when the Harvey Weinstein scandal first broke, how horrified they were. But Weinstein's crap was so extensive it's now clear that EVERYBODY KNEW and that includes the women in Hollywood that Weinstein never attempted to sexually blackmail.

Every last one of the women that have been in Hollywood for any length of time who said they were "horrified" had to have been lying via the sin of omission.

But there is more to women contributing to sexual blackmail (sexual harassment) atmosphere in workplaces across the country than than just pretending it's not happening for so long as it's not happening to you personally.

Women actively kept sexual harassers safe and supported. I've seen it. I just didn't know how to say it.

It's a good thing Rebecca Traister did know how to say it.

FROM THE CUT

WE ARE ALL IMPLICATED
IN THE POST-WEINSTEIN RECKONING

I
WOMAN CHOOSES TO BECOME THE SEX OBJECT PLAYING THE TOXIC MASCULINITY GAME TO WIN

Other women who played along with their bosses expressed a degree of shame, as well as pride.
“Men have their fraternities and golf games to get ahead. Why shouldn’t I have used the advantage of my sexuality to my benefit? God, what else was I supposed to do?” says one woman in her early 50s.
Her attitude suggests something of a generational divide. On one side are women who came of age before Anita Hill’s groundbreaking testimony against Clarence Thomas, who were perhaps raised to assume they’d encounter harassment and resolved to tough it out. To this contingent, younger women’s complaints can sound hand-wringingly excessive: What did those girls expect?
What they expected was the world they’d been assured had arrived: a postfeminist one, in which they were something close to equal, in which their career paths were no longer supposed to be determined by big, swinging dicks — real ones.

II
WOMEN WHO COSIGNED
THE PREDATORS DIVIDE AND CONQUER METHODS
RESPECTABLE WOMEN
vs
PROBABLY SCREWED SOMEBODY TO GET HER JOB
Then there are those who were never directly targeted, perhaps for reasons relating to aesthetic preferences, or perhaps because they resisted.
Several women have spoken to me with curiosity and concern about these colleagues, more than a few left to wither on the professional vine: What ever happened to them? Were their careers, their ambitions, irreparably damaged?
One woman, discussing a print journalist who harassed her in her early 20s, tells of an inverse dynamic: “Other female writers weren’t getting harassed, as far as we knew, which meant that they were the serious writers. We were silly little girls, not deserving of being thought of as real journalists if we were singled out for this treatment.” The slow-drip degradation, she says, led her to quit the profession. “He didn’t grope me, and he didn’t succeed in fucking me. But the way it made me feel — these insidious sexual advances you barely understand at that age, plus the constant professional undermining — it felt like you were never going to win, like you had no value.”
The reason that handsy colleagues exist on the same plane as violent predators is that the harm done to women doesn’t end with the original offense. It’s also how we’re evaluated based on our reactions to it. Do we smile or remain stone-faced, reciprocate or retreat, ignore or complain?
What becomes of us hangs on what we choose.

That last sentence? That is the core of the blackmail aspect of sexual harassment I've been talking about for a few days now.

A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF WHY WOMEN DON'T REPORT SEXUAL BLACKMAIL

FEELING REBLOGGY

....New to Los Angeles and pursuing an acting career, Munn said she was thrilled when a friend invited her to the set of "After the Sunset.” "I was so excited, because I mean, that's why you come out to California and Hollywood," recalled the actress, 37, whose credits now include HBO's "The Newsroom" and the movies "Magic Mike” and "X-Men: Apocalypse."
Not long after Munn arrived on the Santa Monica set in 2004, she said, she was asked to drop some food off in Ratner's trailer as a favor. She said she was assured that the director would not be there.
Munn entered Ratner’s trailer and quickly placed the food on a table. She said she was startled to find him inside. She tried to make a quick exit, but Ratner implored her not to leave.
"He walked out ... with his belly sticking out, no pants on, shrimp cocktail in one hand and he was furiously masturbating in the other," Munn said. "And before I literally could even figure out where to escape or where to look, he ejaculated."
Munn said she let out a "startled scream" and raced out of the trailer. She said she immediately told the man who had asked her to deliver the food. His reaction? “It wasn't a shock. It wasn't surprise,” Munn recalled. “It was just, ‘Ugh, sorry about that.’"
Munn said she left the set and called her sister, Sara Potts, who urged her to speak with a lawyer. Potts confirmed Munn’s account.
The attorney dissuaded her from going up against a powerful director as a fledgling actress, so she did nothing.
“That did leave an impact on me,” Munn said, reflecting on the conversation. "How broken do women have to be before people listen?"
She wrote about the incident in her book, “Suck It, Wonder Woman! The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek” — but stripped out names and details. During a 2011 appearance on “Attack of the Show,” a television program Munn previously co-hosted, Ratner identified himself as the unnamed director, but denied masturbating in front of her. “I used to date Olivia Munn, I will be honest with everybody here,” he said. “When she was ‘Lisa.’ That was the problem. She wasn’t Asian back then.”
“I banged her a few times ... but I forgot her,” he said.
Days later, he went on the Howard Stern show and admitted he never slept with Munn and expressed contrition for making her look like “a whore.”

Before Munn was famous, an attorney basically told her that she'd be putting her career in jeopardy.  Later Ratner "exposes himself" as the man she anonymously wrote about and he chooses to discredit her as "whore."

Men only sexually harass (sexually blackmail) those they can threaten into silence.

Ratner has gone farther than the ordinary "sexual blackmail." He's actually threatened to sue one of the women who accused him of sexual assault. Naturally, he chose the only one without fame and without money, Melanie Kohler.

Melanie Kohler, who faces a defamation lawsuit after penning a Facebook post saying Brett Ratner allegedly raped her, says she stands by her words.
The woman, one of six who have alleged sexual misconduct by the famed Rush Hour producer and director, had said in a Facebook post last month that Ratner "raped" her "on at least one night in Hollywood about 12 years ago" after meeting him at a club. She said on Good Morning America on Wednesday, "I stand by it."
However, the post no longer exists; Kohler removed it shortly after posting it. She told GMA that Ratner's lawyer Marty Singer had called her and allegedly said that if she "didn't take it down immediately," that "he had authorization from Brett Ratner to sue me immediately...for defamation."

LOUIS C.K., THE COPS THAT BEAT RODNEY KING, AND MALE SUPREMACY

Most people don't know this, but the entire Los Angeles Police Department was outed as overtly racist not long after the Rodney King beating.
Police radios are recorded. They have been for decades. When a dispatcher calls a cop or cops call the dispatcher or talk to each other, it's recorded. Everybody above the age of 7 knows this.
Yet when researchers went to check the tapes of Los Angeles police radios, they found that non-black (mostly white) officers used the n-word repeatedly to refer to African Americans on those recorded radios. They did so hundreds of times in a two or three month period.

When white people (and others) can call black people "n*gger" in broad daylight, while on the job, while not in "the south," while definitely in "liberal" California, you know the white supremacy is wide and deep in this country.
Of course that was 1992 and this is now.  Yet in 2016, Trump...

After you listen to this interview of Louis C.K. and hear what he was willing to say about women and girls while HE KNEW he was being recorded too, for some sort of public television or radio broadcast, you will know just how wide and deep the male supremacy and misogyny is in this country.

Use caution: This is video is vile. Be warned.
