THE MURDER OF DANIEL SHAVER AS AN OUTCOME OF BLACK LIVES NOT MATTERING

During the first week of December 2017, a jury decided not to convict a nerdy white police officer with something to prove, Philip "Mitch" Brailsford, after he killed a white man/ ultra-light-skinned man who was unarmed, crawling toward the Brailsford as instructed while begging for his life.

The murder victim's name was Daniel Shaver.

Let me say this just one more time:
Each and every time a cop has simply walked away from killing an unarmed black person, there were 10 cops (most of them white) who were getting the tacit message that they can kill ANYBODY that is not as obedient as a slave.

I've been telling folks for a few years, that cops are going to start coming for white people too. And I think Daniel Shaver's death is just the latest example or white supremacy killing a white man.
Warning: police bodycam video, violent images, death

The instructions the cop gave Shaver between death threats didn't make sense to me the first two times I watched this video

...and I  didn't have a gun pointed in my face to make understanding the cop's instructions even harder.

I heard "hands up" and "cross your legs" and "crawl." I never heard "uncross your legs" and "you're allowed to put your hands down now." So was Shaver supposed to be crawling with his legs crossed?

The thing that is clear is that asking the cop questions about his instructions was an act of disobedience, as was begging for his life apparently.

I have no idea what the objective of all those orders were other than to create an excuse to kill Daniel Shaver, especially since rumor has it that Shaver was drunk or had recently been drunk.

If the cop wasn't creating an excuse to get his Toxic Masulilnity jollies and kill Shaver --and that's probably only a sliver of what's happening in that video-- then maybe we need to look at the obvious: This cop is a coward in a long line of cowardly cops who have shot unarmed people, too many of them black and brown (and poor?) up to this point.

If a cop is so scared he can't give clear instructions that DO NOT SOUND LIKE Shaver was supposed to be crawling forward with his hands up and legs crossed --impossible-- then he should NOT be a cop, right?

Cowards should not be police officers.

For all we know Shaver had an itch, or lost his balance a little, or was doing something as nonsensical as to cross his legs while crawling. I'm pretty sure that's what I'd have been doing after all the screaming and threats of murder for the slightest error Cowards should not be police officers.

I can definitely imagine a situation where I AS A COP wouldn't go into a dark room without spraying everybody in the room with bullets...in order to make myself feel safe. It is obvious to me that this means that I don't have nerve enough to be cop.
Cowards should not be police officers, not even if that coward is me. I don't understand how a bunch of people who are cops right now don't understand this about themselves.

The other likely way that Daniel Shaver's death can be put at the feet of folks who do not care about unarmed black people being abused by police officers so much more often than other demographics, is in the way the evidence was likely presented.

Clearly, I wasn't there with the jury. And I haven't read any details about the jury deliberations. But this whole situation reminds me of how one jury dismissed the content
Rodney King
of the Rodney King beating video. I have to wonder if the Shaver jury wasn't manipulated in the same ways that the King jury was manipulated.

Of course, race and racism made it easier to convince a white jury that King orchestrated his own beating (One white female juror actually said this, "Mr. King was in full control of the whole situation at all times. He was not writhing in pain...He was
Rodney King
moving to get away from the officers....on PCP." She said the 25 year old King orchestrated his entire beating from the ground....and experienced no pain from being hit.
But the big thing that defense did (and the prosecutors allowed) was to play that Rodney King video over and over and over again, numbing the jury out as far as the horror of what they were seeing.

As I understand it, the defense for four cops that nearly beat Rodney King to death or a drunk driving beef played the video over and over, stopping every few seconds so as to redefine what the jurors were seeing with their own eyes. And it worked. The officers were able to walk away from the first verdict.
And now I'm wondering if the jury let Daniel Shaver's cop murderer go for some of the same reasons. Almost all of the people commenting on the video on social media are outraged at how Shaver was murdered on that video. They are all wondering how the jury let the cop murderer go. I think the Rodney King case tells us how the jury let the cop murderer go.

The jury's ordinary human reaction may have been manipulated and deadened. That must be it, right? Or did the prosecutor allow the jury to get entirely packed with a bunch authoritarian Trumpthuglican-type #BlueLivesMatter people because the prosecutor didn't want to prosecut a cop.

Prosecutors and cops are allies on a day to day basis. We have to allow for the possibility that prosecutors are helping defense attorneys when it comes to getting cops off. In the Mike Brown case, a juror sued the prosecutor for "erroneously" telling his grand jury that Darren Wilson was allowed to shoot at Brown JUST FOR running away, when the Supreme Court had decided this was NOT a legal basis for shooting someone in 1985.

If this entire country had been as outraged about the handling of the evidence by the prosecutor in the Rodney King case and Mike Brown case, instead of half the country being outraged that that the cops were questioned at all, maybe prosecutors would be held to a higher standard all these years later and Shaver's killer would be in prison now.

Maybe we'd have found a way to stop legal experts, like defense attorneys and sympathetic prosecutors, from protecting cop murderers in the court room via jury manipulation. Maybe...
But whatever.

So where is the ALL LIVES MATTER PROTEST gonna be at? Or maybe there won't be a protest because certain white folks have a dilemma.
How are the very white ALL LIVES MATTER folks and the very white BLUE LIVES MATTER folks going to come to an agreement about who is REALLY to blame for Shaver's senseless death now that the cop's murder victim is white instead of black or brown? I find it hard to believe that ALL LIVES MATTER and BLUE LIVES MATTER ONLY are going to agree that the white Shaver murdered himself same as they agreed the black Miriam Carey, Mike Brown, Yvette Smith, Eric Garner, and Philando Castile....all brought their own murders on themselves. If they do, I guess we'll have to see more white people die like Daniel Shaver did before they get it.

"Arizona police officer Philip “Mitch” Brailsford, a bespectacled Ramboesque nerd of a cop, was one of six Mesa police officers who had their guns drawn on Daniel Shaver after they ordered him out of his hotel room last January."  (from Photography is not A Crime)
In the meantime, I hope Shaver's family is able to sue the police department responsible for that toxic masculinity suffering jackass Officer Brailsford out of existence...same as all the black families that came before them.

BLACKS ARE MORE THAN 3 TIMES AS LIKELY TO BE GUNNED DOWN BY POLICE WHILE UNARMED

Feeling Rebloggy

Eighteen academic studies, legal rulings, and media investigations shed light on the issue roiling America.

As the nation reels from a series of high-profile fatal shootings of black men by police officers, many have decried the lack of readily available data on how racial bias factors into American policing. But while it’s true that there is no adequate federal database of fatal police shootings (F.B.I. director James Comey has described the lack of data as “embarrassing and ridiculous”), there exists a wealth of academic research, official and media investigations, and court rulings on the topic of race and law enforcement.
The Hive has collected 18 such findings below. This list is not exhaustive, and does not purport to comment on the work of all police officers. It is, rather, merely a digest of the information available at present. Sometimes, studies and investigations reveal evidence of intentional bias; other studies point to broader societal and institutional factors...
“...evidence of a significant bias in the killing of unarmed black Americans relative to unarmed white Americans, in that the probability of being black, unarmed, and shot by police is about 3.49 times the probability of being white, unarmed, and shot by police on average.”

POLICE MURDERER OF 15 YEAR OLD JORDAN EDWARDS INDICTED

In case you've forgotten which black kid police murdered lately. Jordan Edwards is the boy that was in a car riding away from house party. Originally, police tried to say the car was backing toward the officer but the story changed after the body camera footage was reviewed. (Thank you President Obama)

J
ordan was in the car with four other teens, including his brothers, Merritt said.
Balch Springs Police said they were called to a report of “several underage kids walking around” in the 12300 block of Baron Drive about 11 p.m. Saturday, according to a press release. Police said the responding officers heard gunfire while looking for the teens and opened fire on the car Edwards was in after “an unknown altercation."
The family’s attorney, Lee Merritt, told the newspaper Jordan and his friends were not the teens police were looking for and hadn’t been drinking. He said the other teens in the car are not facing charges.

  •    Jordan was unarmed in a vehicle, leaving, moving away from the officer when he was shot in the head by the officer.
  •   When Jordan's father asked about his son's murder he was put in jail

Jordan Edwards was a straight A student. That, plus his being an age appropriate party (no drugs/no alcohol) when murdered makes him a respectability politician's dream. As victims who cannot be blamed for their own deaths go --because they are...um...black-- Jordan Edwards is perfect.

There is no excuse at all for Officer Roy Oliver to escape going to prison for murder -- except for the fact that he has the complexion of protection.

However, do keep in mind that Jordan Edwards murder took place in Texas, which is the state with the largest number of white supremacist hate groups in the nation.

If he walks, I'm going to have to re-evaluate my place inside this country and start to think of it as one giant OK Corral.

FERGUSON POLICE THEORY OF MIKE BROWN SHOOTING HAS BEEN SHOT TO PIECES...EVEN FOR WHITE PEOPLE

There's new video that's been obtained by Jason Pollack, maker of the documentary STRANGER FRUIT, that sheds light on the murder of Michael Brown in Ferguson.

In the more than two years since Michael Brown's death thousands if not millions of people have seen the video that Ferguson Police trotted out as evidence that Mike Brown was a violent criminal who committed "strong arm robberies" -- a robbery his cop murderer knew nothing about at the time of the shooting.

Trying to find a good reason for Wilson to shoot Brown is explain why it took a month for Darren Wilson to construct and complete his final written report on what happened the day he killed Mike Brown.

The original video of Mike Brown shoving the clerk from the store was only ever character assassination. It was supposed to lend a tiny bit of credibility to the story that Mike Brown charged at white police officer Darren Wilson over a jaywalking beef.

I've always call the Ferguson police theory of the motive behind Mike Brown's murder the: N*GGERS ARE NATURALLY CRAZY AND VIOLENT EXPLANATION
  • Even if Brown HAD strong armed that store, nothing but mental illness would truly explain trying to reach inside a police officer's car and grab his gun....then, run, turn around, and charge him
  • This only ever made sense in white supremacy soaked minds.

The original video clip was successful character assassination for whites only or whites predominantly. And now that original video clip isn't even good for that.

The new video associated with a new documentary called STRANGER FRUIT shows that Mike Brown was in the same store 11 hours before he was murdered by Darren Wilson.

     BEAT BY BEAT

1) The new film of the store, recorded near 1 AM the night before Brown was murdered, appears to show Brown giving three people behind the counter an object that they smelled (The narrator thinks Mike is giving them marijuana for trade.)

2) Appearing satisfied, the people behind the counter keep what Mike Brown gave him then hand Brown two boxes of cigarillos.

3) Mike Brown walks toward the exit but stops and turns back into the store.

4) Brown hands one of the three guys behind the counter the cigaillos back--like he asked them to hold the cigarillos until he could pick them up later.

Circumstantial evidence would suggest that Mike went to the store again,11 hours later, to pick up the cigarillos he already owned.  One could assume based on what happens next that there was some sort of misunderstanding which resulted in Brown shrugging off the man that grabbed him --the same man that never called the police about a robbery (It was a  customer saw what was going on and called police.)

If I didn't see gambling as setting my hard earned money on fire I'd bet that this was a family owned shop; that the kids bought the marijuana for cigarillos during the night watch; and Dad didn't know what was going on the next day when Brown came to get payment. I'd bet that the Ferguson Police Department and law enforcement in St. Louis guessed at the same things...and didn't follow up.

Again, as I recall, during the INITIAL DAYS OF THE MIKE BROWN MURDER INVESTIGTION, it was clear that Wilson had NOT informed of this "misunderstanding" at the store before he shot Brown. Ferguson police later went back and forth on what Wilson knew and when as the weeks and the protests went on.
See the critical clip of the documentary below or at the NY TIMES link.

Mike Brown's family is due in Civil Court soon. I hope this film helps the Brown family take every bit of the millions of dollars that ABC paid Darren Wilson for his "story." May Wilson be a homeless, health insurance-less Chump supporter some day soon. I hope the Brown family can decimate the city of Ferguson financially too -- because those so-and-so-s knew about this new video. It's only new to us, the public.

But Jeff Sessions is our top cop right now. Darren Wilson will likely skate.

ONLY WHITE LIVES MATTER TO THE NRA

Feeling Rebloggy

The country’s largest gun lobby has fought tirelessly in recent years to expand gun ownership to all Americans, successfully securing the right for people to legally carry both open and concealed firearms virtually anywhere they want. In Louisiana, where Alton Sterling was shot Tuesday night at a convenience store, a license is not required to openly carry a firearm. And in Minnesota, where Philando Castile was shot on Wednesday during a traffic stop, people with permits can carry weapons, openly or concealed.
Before he died, Castile specifically told the officer Wednesday night that he was armed and had a license to carry, but was shot and killed anyway....
The night before, Sterling was restrained and pinned to the ground after an officer yelled: “He’s got a gun! Gun!” An officer shot him in the back several times before another officer pulled the gun out of his back pocket.

~Think Progress

In 2014,  a white police officer shot and killed  within 3 seconds Yvette Smith of Bastrop Texas for opening her door when police knocked. And he shot her with his own personal AR-15 (the mass shooter's weapon of choice) The officer was found not guilty of all wrong doing by a judge in Texas just a couple of months ago.

So where's the NRA? When's the press conference going to be held? Somebody send me a link. (<--extreme sarcasm)

Anybody who can't see that police are willfully killing black people just because the ARE black at this point is willfully ignoring the news or is looking at the news through a sociopath's eyes. You can hear the cop in the Philando Castile murder video, you can hear his abject fear of absolutely nothing but black skin. You can hear that coward's panic. The sight of black skin and the memory of a black stereotype inspired this murder, right? I mean, what ELSE could it have been?

FINALLY, A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THE FREDDIE GRAY CASE

A Baltimore judge on Wednesday ordered Officer Garrett E. Miller to testify at the trials of two fellow police officers charged in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray.

In a brief hearing, Circuit Judge Barry G. Williams granted prosecutors' motion to compel Miller to testify at the trials of Officer Edward M. Nero, which is scheduled to begin May 10, and Lt. Brian W. Rice, scheduled for July 5. Miller's testimony can't be used against him in his own case.

Translation: The prosecutor is finally headed in the direction of the people who did the actual beating of Freddie Gray.

I hope  this means that Mosley is off her cowardly "The Van Did It" theory. * * * * *

FALLING ASLEEP IN A PARKED CAR WHILE BLACK

Marquintan Sandlin and Kisha Michael made arrangements for someone to watch their kids and went out on a date. After the date, in the wee hours of the morning, they fall asleep or pass out in the car with a gun between them(?) The police spent 45 minutes trying to wake the couple up. Then military grade weapons were fired into or at the car by police, killing them both.

The mayor says one or both of them must have been awake at some point because somebody (one or more of the cops) felt threatened.

This above is an outline of the police version of this story. Does this even come close to making sense to you?

"For at least 45 minutes, police attempted "to rouse" them in an effort "to de-escalate the situation," said Butts. It is the first public explanation for what transpired early Sunday morning during the time between the initial call and the shooting.  Police previously had stated responding officers saw the woman had a gun, retreated to behind cover, and then gave orders for the couple to exit the vehicle."

http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/couple-killed-inglewood-police-shooting-asleep-mayor-butts-369902981.html
So THIS VERSION of events is actually story #2. Got it. * * * * * STORY #1
Officers said they received a call early Sunday morning of a suspicious vehicle stopped near Manchester Boulevard and Inglewood Avenue. When they approached the car, they noticed the woman in the car had a gun and ordered her and a male occupant out of the vehicle, said Scott Collins, a spokesman for the Inglewood Police Department.
Officers then took cover and opened fire, killing both people.
However, Kisha's never owned a gun according to her twin sister. Read More: http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-family-of-woman-killed-by-inglewood-police-demand-answers-20160222-story.html

SAM DuBOSE FAMILY PAID MILLIONS IN SETTLEMENT AFTER BODY CAM SHOWS MURDER

SAM DUBOSE (CENTER) AND FAMILY

Remember Sam DuBose?

Sam DuBose was killed by a college cop during a routine traffic stop just off the University of Cincinnati's campus. DuBose did not have his driver's license. He'd explained this multiple times. The officer, 25 years old at the time, shot DuBose for no apparent reason when DuBose started his car again.

WE SHOULD CONSIDER THIS A BLACK LIVES MATTER VICTORY
BECAUSE
POLICE BODY CAMERAS ARE A RESULT OF BLACK LIVES MATTER EFFORTS.

A number of police departments had body cameras or a budget for body cameras but weren't using them until Black Lives Matter nation-wide spotlighting activities forced the issue.

Trayvon Martin died in 2012.  George Zimmerman was found to be not guilty  of Martin's murder in 2013. Outraged over the verdict, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi gave birth to Black Lives Matter in 2013.

Many Black Lives Matter protests later, Cincinnati was testing Body Cameras on it's police officers in 2014.

Officer Ray Tensing's murder of Sam DuBose was caught on Body Camera. And Ray Tensing was charged with murder due to the body camera video. He faces 15 years to life at this time.  The murder trial is due to begin soon.

DuBose Family Settlement also includes free tuition at the school

ERIC GARNER'S DEATH BLAMED ON BLACK WOMAN BY NYPD

Kizzy Adonis, a 14-year NYPD veteran, was one of the supervising officers at the scene of Garner’s death during his arrest 18 months ago for selling illegal loose cigarettes.
Adonis told investigators “the perpetrator’s condition did not seem serious and that he did not appear to get worse,” according to an internal report by the NYPD.
But Adonis also said that she “believed she heard the perpetrator state that he was having difficulty breathing.”
http://www.clutchmagonline.com/2016/01/nypd-charged-black-female-sergeant-in-eric-garner-death-investigation-but-not-cop-who-choked-him-to-death/

I don't know how to feel about this.  If they were ever going to charge ANYBODY for Eric Garner's death Daniel Pantaleo should have gone down first.  So yes, this is an example of racism at its finest.

But I still don't know how to feel about this.

I could understand her being pressured to write this or that by white superiors while trying to think about how to keep her job to pay rent or kids school clothes etc. I wouldn't like it. But maybe I could try to understand succumbing to that.

But she was standing there?

There's film of Garner's death --and she's not in it. Was she way off to the side somewhere? Could she be so far off to the side that it was almost like she was back at the office while this was happening on the street? I kinda doubt the possibility of this scenario. So I'm confused.
If she WAS in the immediate vicinity, has she seen so many choke holds that this did not affect her? If she was in the immediate vicinity and it did affect her, why don't we hear her screaming at Pantaleo to let Garner go? Why did she write what she wrote in her report? I need a lot more information. Don't you? And why is this the first we're really hearing about Adonis after all this time? Is this NYPD's way of saying "ha-ha" and f-you black community? I kinda think it is. Don't you? And I'd bet a lot of money she's being punished for admitting that she heard Garner saying he was having difficulty breathing. The quotes together seem like she was trying to tell the truth and please white management at the same time. I'm not sure there too many of us of any age who hasn't been caught up in something a lot less serious but similar.

I wonder if she wrote her statement before or after the video came out? Regardless of what her true level of responsibility for Eric Garner's death is, I want to know who initiated this attack on Kizzy Adonis, when, why, and how come it took this long. Don't you?

ARMED PLUS PROTESTER EQUALS WHITE

"A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service spokesperson told CNN that the agency and the Bureau of Land Management are monitoring the armed protesters."

~ Washington Post

Before I tell you the whole story - That single sentence captioned above lets you know the protesters are white, right? The sentence does it all by itself right?

Some upset folk in Oregon took over a federal building with guns.  And there are no tanks rolling like there were in Ferguson. The number of protesters involved has been listed as 150. Whether 15 or all 150 had guns, these people aren't falling down dead for having their hand near a fake gun like Tamir Rice.  There's no discussion about how the police are going to mow these violent "armed protesters" down.

You know these "armed protesters" are white right?

The Bureau of Land Management is monitoring the armed protesters. There are not multiple concentric circles of militarily dressed SWAT teams surrounding these armed protesters.

You know these "armed protesters" are white right?

You know the words "white terrorists" will never leave the mainstream media's lips right?

You don't need any pictures, right? The words paint the picture, don't they? You know these "armed protesters" are white right?
Armed + Protester = White

The original story

An armed militia took over a building at a national wildlife refuge in Oregon late Saturday and vows to occupy the outpost for years to protest the federal government’s treatment of a pair of ranchers facing prison time.
The occupation of a portion of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge 30 miles southeast of Burns, Ore., followed a peaceful march for ranchers Dwight Hammond, 73, and Steven Hammond, 46, who are scheduled to report to federal prison in San Pedro, Calif., on Monday after being convicted of arson, according to the Oregonian.
Prosecutors said the father and son set the fire, which burned about 130 acres in 2001 on leased federal land, to conceal poaching, according to CNN
~ Washington Post

This is like....the ultimate white privilege lesson. A 12 year boy with a toy is more dangerous than 150(?) armed, upset white men. Tamir Rice got two seconds. These white men will get hours to decide to put their guns down and go home.

This is so foul.

Life is not a white privilege.

READ MORE: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2016/01/03/armed-militia-bundy-brothers-take-over-federal-building-in-rural-oregon/

As this man below points out, all these white people have risen and come together with threat of violence, yet this story is barely worth covering. Let 150 Muslims of black folks gather to protest something sans guns or taking over a federal building and see what happens to the news cycle.

REPOST: A TALE OF TWO ERICs WHO CAN'T BREATHE

REPOST FROM APRIL 2015

When I heard that Eric Courtney Harris died in Tulsa, Oklahoma while listening to some white cop say,

"F*ck Your Breath"

because Harris dared complain about being shot while lying on the ground (ala Oscar Grant) then complained further about being unable to breathe (ala Eric Garner)  I had a moment, maybe two, where I hoped that Harris was a drug dealer or big time gun runner, directly or indirectly responsible for the deaths of dozens of people.

I have no excuse for thinking such a horrible thing.  I was only thinking about myself, about comforting myself.

I just wanted there to be a reason, not a good reason, just some kind of reason for that police officer to put his knee on Eric's head and respond "You f*cking ran...Fuck Your Breath"  after he heard another human being, shot and frightened of dying complain  about "losing my breathe"

I just wanted one of the unarmed black people killed over this month to have been killed for a reasonable reason. But instead we get...
"F*ck Your Breath"

What's worse is that the white man that shot Eric wasn't really a police officer.

Seventy-three year old Robert Bates is a rich man who was only playing cops-and-robbers as a "volunteer reserve deputy." And because of his money, somebody thought it was a good idea to turn him loose during an undercover operation---or just after. It's hard to tell. But it was Bates who accidentally grabbed his gun instead of his taser and shoots Harris.

You can hear apologizes to the white officers for shooting Harris in the video.  It's unbelievable. Watch at your own risk

Now, I really did think about scanning the net to find out who 44 year old Eric Harris really was but it really doesn't change anything about how he should have been treated. Having dealt with racists in some form or fashion all my life, I know you cannot let evil people make you evil too, not in retaliation, not even when they deserve it. You cannot let other people's garbage reduce you as a human being.

And one would think that police officers would have to learn something similar in order to routinely come into contact with and attempt to control the worst that our society has to offer.

Officer F*ck-Your-Breath" must have skipped class the day they taught being civilized at the police academy because he's an animal in uniform no matter what Eric Harris did or didn't do.

Daniel Pantaleo never, ever said anything like "F*ck Your Breath" but he sure acted it out, didn't he? He just kept on choking Eric Garner with the same callous disregard for the pain, fear, and suffering of another human being as Officer F*ck-Your-Breath.

And I don't know why, but I am damn near certain that Mike Brown was bent over in pain,  curling into a more fetal position than demon charging position, when Darren Wilson gunned him down.

When an animal in uniform can't see a black person as a human being it can't.

Rich Man Playing At Cops and Robbers
Robert Bates

CLICK HERE FOR MORE ON THIS STORY FROM CNN

"Fuck your breath!" a cop responds. "Shut the fuck up!" "You shouldn’t have fucking ran!" his colleague adds as they hold Harris down. Harris died about an hour later at a nearby hospital.
