Governor Ralph Northam Gives Republicans A Chance To Say 'DEMOCRATS ARE THE REAL RACISTS!"

There's very few people, black or brown that don't know there are white racists on both sides of the aisle. But the GOP hypocrisy here is DEEP in the age of Trump. The GOP ran their boy Gillespie's campaign against Northam using white supremacist dog whistles (bull horns) at every turn. 

That lying racist (or formerly-racist) jackass Northam needs to resign. But never let the GOP's hypocritical b.s. fool you into thinking that white supremacy isn't just laced through the party but a foundational basis of who they are -- even the ones that aren't as overt about their racism as Orange Chump is.

Apparently photos surfaced of him dressed up as a half-dead black woman, in drag, complete with black face. He was supposed to be a Katrina Victim. I can't wait to hear how he's not a racist. I'm assuming there's been too much outrage to throw out the "Why do we all have to be so politically correct" card.

The photo was taken in 2005, eight months after Ertel was appointed Seminole County supervisor of elections and two months after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.

     A lawyer for black workers suing General Motors over alleged racial bullying at an Ohio plant where nooses were found two years ago claims the harassment there is ongoing.
     "The hostile environment has continued and reached a retaliatory level," said Michelle Vocht, a lawyer representing a group of black current and former workers at the Toledo plant who sued the automaker in April 2018.
     The suit alleged the company failed to take prompt corrective action after black employees at the GM Powertrain and Fabrications plant reported acts of racism, such as the hanging of nooses and "whites only" bathroom signs.

...The lawsuit described various other alleged incidents of racially hostile remarks and epithets in the last four years, including:

• White employees calling black employees "boy."
• A female black employee being called a crude, racist slur.
• Swastikas painted and scratched on restroom stalls.
• Stick figures with nooses around their necks drawn on restroom stalls.
• White workers wore shirts under their coveralls with visible Nazi symbols on them.
• Black employees told to be careful because a white employee's "daddy was in the Ku Klan Klan."
• White workers telling black workers to go back to Africa.
• "Whites Only" signs hung on restroom stall doors and written on walls outside the men's restroom.
• A white supervisor, at a meeting, saying, "What's the big deal about nooses? There was never a black person who was lynched that didn't deserve it." The supervisor was not disciplined, the lawsuit said.

GM's reaction

The alleged behavior did not just target black workers.

In one instance, a white woman running for a union office happened to be dating a black man, the lawsuit said. Her election posters throughout the plant were, "defaced with racial slurs and drawings of black penises," the lawsuit said. 

The lawsuit said because GM failed to take prompt corrective action in all the incidents, it created "an atmosphere whereby hate-driven employees felt free to hang nooses, display racist graffiti, and verbally attack and racially insult African-Americans. These symbols of the historical torture and lynching of African-Americans touched each of the plaintiffs, were a personal affront to each's dignity and caused each fear for his or her safety."

I have questions aside from why GM didn't take corrective action (because I already know why --GM didn't give a damn) .

My questions are these:

1) Why weren't the police been called? For the noose? For the whites only sign? 

...which also begs the question...

2) Why haven't some of these people been hauled away in cuffs on hate crime charges? 

And by the way, regarding the supervisor that said, "What's the big deal about nooses? There was never a black person who was lynched that didn't deserve it." 

The only corrective action,  that will leave African American workers feeling safe there,  is for him or her to be fired, and anybody with decision making authority above that person to be fired. 

I would think that some of these crimes should have been worthy of federal hate crime charges.

Hate crime laws are very different across the nation. Some state laws protect many more groups than others. Ohio has a relatively weak hate crime law, while the federal government’s law is much stronger and more inclusive. Ohio's hate crime statute (ORC 2927.12) is not a standalone crime, but offers additional penalties for crimes motivated by race, religion, color, or national origin.

This appears to mean that the federal route is the only option for putting some of these people in prison because Ohio doesn't appear to have any "stand alone" hate crime laws at all.

In 2015, Univision entertainment reporter Rodner Figueroa compared Michelle Obama to a cast member of “Planet of The Apes.” 

When a viewer asked why he marched with [alt-Right] racists, Ramos said, “I stood by racist people but they weren’t racist to me.” 

     Ramos’ assertion that his Puerto Rican roots meant he couldn’t be racist is a prime example of Latinos who are completely ignorant of their ability to perpetuate white supremacy.
     Guess what? Latinos, both here and in Latin America, do and say plenty of things that promote anti-blackness — and most of the time we don’t even blink an eye when it happens. 

     When it comes to discussing racism, we often subscribe to the black vs. white binary that we often see in the United States. 

     If our views aren’t extreme, if we’re not a “full-blown racist,” then we’re completely absolved of perpetuating anti-blackness, right? Wrong. When we think like that, we tend to ignore the colorism — often subtle — that permeates through much of Latin America. It’s a difficult thing to confront, but if we don’t address it within our own community, we can’t expect it to magically resolve itself...

     Approximately two dozen Black former and current Tesla employees have spoken out about the racism and discrimination they endured at the car company's factory in Fremont, California.
     A damning New York Times report alleged Telsa ignored complaints of racism when brought to the attention of executives. Workers allegedly endured racial harassment in the form of bullying, slurs and taunting. Court documents, interviews and other testimonies describe a culture of racism which prevented Black workers from moving up the corporate ladder.

     Former employee Owen Diaz, 50, told The Times he saw multiple swastikas drawn on the bathroom walls during his time at the factory. He worked at the factory as a contractor for 11 months before leaving in 2016.
     In one instance, Diaz said fellow workers taunted and called him a racist slur. “You hear, ‘Hey, boy, come here,’ ‘N-i-g-g-e-r,’ you know, all this,” said Diaz. A few hours passed before he discovered a racist drawing on a bale of cardboard boxes.
     He texted his manager informing him about the racist effigy he saw. Diaz learned that a supervisor drew the figure as a joke. This revelation was the last straw; he quit shortly after...

I am sickened to say that the only thing I actually find semi-shocking about this is that lizard brain didn't insist on wearing his maggot hat while issuing this reprehensible statement. The fact that his handlers cannot keep the muzzle over his his mouth is no longer even vaguely surprising.

I mean, it's not other U.S. Presidents wouldn't have found a way to keep that arms deal in place.

But I think any one of them would have had the fake-decency to pretend to care about the vicious torture and murder of a man that had been living here in the U.S. And I'm thinking most of them would have had the brain cells to know that had to, at least, let it be known that the U.S. thinks the King in Saudi Arabia should choose a different son to take over when he's gone. 

The impact of Trump is going to last for decades and decades if he doesn't completely destroy what's left of the democracy before he goes.

BARABOO WISCONSIN TO BE ADDED TO THE 2019 EDITION OF THE GREEN BOOK

Just kidding. There is no 2019 edition of The Green Book planned. But maybe there should be based on how things are going in Trump's America lately. * * * * * The photographer of the prom photo below supposedly told the white boys therein to raise their hands. That vague instruction was most of what he supposedly said according to a boy, Jordan Blue, who refused to follow the instruction.

Now, the photographer is either claiming the boys are not doing Nazi salutes or that it was just a joke. I'm not sure what he's claiming except his right to pseudo white outrage at being accused of instigating this latest example of white supremacy.*

*By the way, in case you didn't know: Rabid White Supremacy excludes of a lot of white looking people from whiteness, including Jewish and Latino people-- even though some appear to forget that and go so far as to work for and vote for somebody like Orange Chump.

Look closely at this picture. Many, not all, of the white boys took a very definitive Nazi stance.

And I say the stance is definitive in some cases because if you, me and the rest of the world had never ever heard of a Nazi -- if Nazi's had never come to exist-- that particular pose would not have been anybody's natural response to "raise your hand."

Somebody's lying. All we're talking about now is how big the lie is. And I think the lie is big enough to encompass the entire town.

If "raise your hand" or "say goodbye to the camera" is really all the photographer said, then that entire school and possibly the entire town has a white supremacy / anti-semitism problem -- except the one white boy they've been interviewing who refused to do it (Top right corner, bow tie) and very few others. It's been reported that one of the parents yelled "stop it" as the photo was being taken.
Think about it. A large percentage of white boys (and possibly one black kid) spontaneously did a Nazi salute in response to a vague instruction. Then a grown ass white man saw multiple Nazi poses through the lens of his camera and took the photo anyway.
In my mind, the entire town has a white supremacy problem. I would not feel safe driving through there or staying in a hotel there. I really wouldn't.

Now, take a moment to look at the front center Nazi poser, the one in the light jacket and red vest. Beside him is a boy in a dark jacket and red tie who appears to be making an O.K sign against his leg with his hand. In the last month or so, I've read that this is a white supremacy hand signal.

People on social media, who live near this town, this school, have said they are not surprised by behavior of this sort from this particular area. So, taken altogether, I'd say Baraboo Wisconsin needs to be in 2019 edition of The Green Book as a place for people of color should avoid when traveling in order to be safe.

But in the rows of sand-colored tents in Tornillo, Tex., children in groups of 20, separated by gender, sleep lined up in bunks. There is no school: The children are given workbooks that they have no obligation to complete. Access to legal services is limited. 

These midnight voyages are playing out across the country, as the federal government struggles to find room for more than 13,000 detained migrant children — the largest population ever — whose numbers have increased more than fivefold since last year...

The next big story we're going to hear on these children may be they have the children working, much like they do adult prisoners, for 10 cents an hour so they can help pay for their own upkeep or put some money on their own "commissary" --while simultaneously saving some corporation millions of dollars on labor.

Isn't this where this is headed? Isn't it? These kids aren't white or white enough and don't look a thing like Trump's young son. Since they're not in any great hurry to either return the children to their parents or temporarily situate them in foster care while they find their parents, what else is the next big idea going to look like?

 “The Souls of Black Folk”. Double consciousness describes 

the individual sensation of feeling as though your identity

within the context of race relations in the United States. 

He asserted that since American blacks have lived in a society 

that has historically repressed and devalued them that 

it has become difficult for them to unify their 

black identity with their American identity (Edles and Appelrouth 351-352). 

Double consciousness forces blacks to not only 

few themselves from their own unique perspective, 

but to also view themselves as they might be perceived 

by the outside (read: white) world. 

This is what Du Bois spoke of in the above passage when

 he talked about “the sense of looking at one’s self 

through the eyes of others” (351).

3. And now he's gotten his racist MUSLIM BAN passed. Black and brown people both,  can't even apply to live here legally if there from certain countries  (--unless they have a rich-corporate connection and promised job at a place like Amazon or Google, I'm assuming)

They hate everybody they perceive as not-white no matter how pale skinned they actually are -- which brings us to Puerto Rico

A Harvard study estimates 4600 people are dead there, mostly as a result of us NOT responding to the storm damage from Hurricane Maria (as if the people that live there are white and therefore matter) Thousands are still without power 9 months later. And now hurricane season is here again.

Most days I just want Trump to go away. I want those sinkholes in front of the White House and Mar-A-Lago to be demons digging their way out of hell to come claim their favorite tangerine colored son. But when I really stop and think about it, I don't want him to leave until at least half of white people are feeling the pain --- with those who voted for Trump eating grass clippings out of their lawn mowers. 

And a lot of white people are going to be feeling pain from Trump despite being white  ...cause as much as Trump despises anybody NOT in white skin, he doesn't give a rat's fat @$$ about anybody who isn't rich either --even if they ARE white.

My prayers are like King David's these days. (Look up some of the Psalms nobody Christian likes to talk about that much)

May the rest of us be able to hang on until it's over.

The Trump administration has shown that it's willing — eager, actually — to go to great lengths to limit illegal immigration into the United States, from building a multi-billion-dollar border wall with Mexico to escalated roundups that grab those living here without permission even if they have no criminal record and are longtime, productive members of their communities. Now the administration's cold-hearted approach to enforcement has crossed the line into abject inhumanity: the forced separation of children from parents as they fight for legal permission to remain in the country.

How widespread is the practice? That's unclear. The Department of Homeland Security declined comment because it is being sued over the practice. 

It ignored a request for statistics on how many children it has separated from their parents, an unsurprising lack of transparency from an administration that faces an unprecedented number of lawsuits over its failure to respond to Freedom of Information Act requests for government — read: public — records. But immigrant rights activists say they have noticed a jump, and in December, a coalition of groups filed a complaint with Homeland Security over the practice...

Brianna Brochu was arrested October 28 on misdemeanor charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace, online court records show. Details of the case were not immediately available. The charges are both class B misdemeanors, which each carry a maximum sentence of 6 months in prison, along with a potential fine. Brochu now faces an additional charge of second-degree intimidation based on bigotry or bias, a class D felony that carries a potential sentence of 1 to 5 years in prison.
