THE VIRTUALLY UNRECOGNIZABLE STORY OF MIRIAM CAREY (BECAUSE BLACK WOMENS LIVES MATTER TOO)

Baby in the back seat, a black woman drove through a security checkpoint near the White House much like a check point I walked through last year, not realizing what it was. There's no gate or anything to block you.  

Apparently a capitol policeman stepped out of a Kiosk and yelled at her to stop. I don't know if she was already passed him or what, but instead of stopping she made a U-turn to come back. (So far so good. I have big blind spots in my car. I am U-queen.)

So she's coming back to leave this area she's not supposed to be in. And this white man in black t-shirt with shorts, moves a huge bicycle rack, in front of her car to block her in. Joe no-name, no-uniform is also carrying what's been described as a beer cooler or an over-sized lunch cooler in his hands. 

Miriam and The Catalyst

So the woman tries to go around him. Then Joe-strange-dude, in a black t-shirt and shorts, doing strange things, maneuvers himself, the giant bike rack, along with the beer(?) cooler into her path again. And I think this is the point at which she makes a stronger effort to get away. He winds up rolling off the front of the car. 

Somehow a very short car chase begins involving capital police and the secret service. It seems that more than one officer and/or agent have to jump out of her way to avoid being hit

Forty-five minutes or so later, the black woman is dead, having been shot at 26 times with the 13 month old in the backseat. She is dead having been struck 5 times

This nationally covered story doesn't sound terribly familiar does it? It shouldn't.  These are the October 2013 headlines associated with Miriam Carey's Death

The "White House Barrier" or "White House Gate"  that she rammed?
That was actually a bicycle rack that she likely tapped.

The aggressive white guy with the beer(?) cooler and bike rack? 
That was an off-duty secret service agent, in t-shirt and shorts.  

That half-destroyed police car you've seen in some newspaper photographs? 
Her Infinity was not the car that hit that police car as implied. 



Again, it doesn't appear that she "rammed" the bicycle rack.  Supposedly there are pictures of white guy in black shirt and shorts somewhere near the scene of Carey's death. That would tend to mean he got up and walked away rather than taken away in an ambulance after having been "rammed" by a vehicle weighing a few thousand pounds. 

The police report said her speed was 40 to 80 (in an area I can't see that happening) Washington post calculated her speed at 20mph. But there could be a logic explanation for the discrepancy if she stopped more than once


Miriam Carey's post-partum depression, blamed for her behavior after the main stream media stopped calling her a terrorist out to get Presidnt Obama, does not appear to have been confirmed by a professional. 

Apparently post-partum depression idea was accidentally introduced into the mix by the family when reporters asked about Miriam's mental state. Where some of the specifics reported on her post-partum depression came from, since she hadn't been professionally diagnosed, is unknown.

Carey did do a few things that are rather inexplicable in my mind, if true. More than one officer reportedly had to jump out of her way. We must assume that at least one of them was in uniform, mustn't we? But I'm trying to imagine how jerky my car responses might be if six or seven people have their guns aimed at me while I have a child in the back seat.


I am also trying to imagine how it is that the two drunk secret service agents who actually did run into a real White House barrier onto a crime scene with an object reported to be a bomb did not get shot. 

I am also trying to figure out why the family hasn't been told exactly who shot Miriam, why the tapes of the police calls haven't been turned over to the family, and how this story got so twisted in the news. 

The House Of Representatives actually gave capitol police and secret service a standing ovation for saving them from this "terrorist" who turned out to be a confused mom that blew by a kiosk where the man acting as security "guard" was doing who knows what (with his buddy in the black t-shirt?) when Miriam got passed him .

The body of the United States’ first ever female Muslim judge was found Wednesday afternoon in the Hudson River near Manhattan, according to a Wednesday New York Post report.

Sheila Abdus-Salaam served as an associate judge of the Court of Appeals. She was the first African-American woman to serve on New York's top court. She was 65.

She had been reported missing earlier in the day, the newspaper reports.

Sources tell the Post that there were no visible signs of trauma or physical injuries suggesting foul play."

"The three women behind a lawsuit alleging “appalling discrimination” at the hands of a former executive at Fox News on Wednesday opened up about the alleged racial harassment they faced at the news network.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday — an amended version of a complaint filed last week — Tichaona Brown, Tabrese Wright and Monica Douglas alleged Fox News Senior Vice President of Accounting Judith Slater [an employee of 17 years] habitually mocked black employees."

According to one of the women I saw interviewed, someone affiliated Fox's Human Resources would not take action against Slater when she was originally reported (pre-lawsuit, up to two years ago) because Slater knew too much.

Welp...um...one of the things that I learned during a Good Morning America Broadcast was that Fox News has paid off 13 million dollars in sexual harassment type lawsuits due to accusations leveled against Bill O'Reilly of the O'Reilly Factor ...one of many white "news" anchors at Fox News that love racist and racial charged statements that conservative white racists adore.

In case you forgot, O'Reilly just recently mocked Maxine Waters' hair, saying she was wearing a "James Brown Wig." 

Well, I guess Maxine is the one laughing today.  

As the sexual harassment suits multiple and become more public, many advertisers have started pulling their advertising from Fox and Bill O'Reilly -- advertising worth more than 200 million dollars per year.

  
In even better news, it looks like there's a pile on effect going on. May the lawsuits multiply until those racists at Fox News goes under. I hope each and every one of the anchors there goes broke.

Korryn Gaines and the Criminalization of Disabilities

On Monday morning, Korryn Gaines joined the growing list of black people killed by police this year. Baltimore County police officers shot the 23-year-old mother inside her suburban Baltimore home after arriving to serve her a warrant for failure to appear in court for a traffic violation. Police officers say they shot Gaines, who was cradling her son, because she pointed a shotgun at them.

In the immediate backlash over her death from the wider black community and activists, The Washington Post reported that Gaines might have suffered from lead poisoning as a child, which can lead to cognitive and behavioral disabilities. She also appeared to be suffering from some sort of mental breakdown in the months leading up to her death.

WHY DID SYMONE MARSHALL DIE IN A TEXAS JAIL AFTER HER CAR FLIPPED OVER?

"Symone Nicole Marshall, according to her family, was in a brutal car accident on April 26 in which her car flipped over several times before landing in a ditch. In what scenario, when you're white, do you not get taken to a hospital after your car flips over?

Speeding?

I say you get taken to a hospital if you're white.

Meth high?

I say you get taken to a hospital if you're white.

Drunk?

I say you get taken to a hospital if you're white, even if you ran over a white child just before your car flipped over. (Sandy Hook has proven white children don't matter THAT much either)

But maybe it's just me.

Not only do I want to know the circumstances of Symone's going off the road. I want to know what happened to white people who were wild and mild car accidents for the last 3 to 5 years.

Just call me curious.

Symone might have died anyway. Whatever happened to her might not have been caught at a hospital if she died weeks later. But a hospital would have given her, at 22 years of age, the best chance for being alive right now. When people see you as fully human they take you to a hospital. But when white people do not see you as fully human, historically, they haven't taken us, people of color, to a hospital.

Is this more same ole, same ole? If so, can somebody do something about it. This is 2016. What excuse can they possibly have for not taking this woman to a hospital?

I almost hope some facts are missing. I almost hope somebody took her to a hospital and forgot to write it down where it's supposed to be -- and everybody's missed it so far because I am questioning the humanity of the officers involved and the humanity within the police system itself...again.


I am trying to imagine what a car that has flipped over several times looks like. And now I'm  adding another layer of imagination, trying to imagine my worst enemy in the wreckage, looking none the worse for wear but having more than a 5th grade education, wondering about internal injuries. I'm wondering how I could tell myself NOT to take my worst enemy to an actual hospital for all the tests possible.

I don't have that much imagination.

I need more information. I hope you do too.

When a Chicago judge dismissed the charges against Police Officer Dante Servin for the death of Rekia Boyd when Servin...

- shot her over his shoulder
- killed her while off duty,

- over what began as a noise complaint

The judge stated that the reason for the dismissal was that the prosecutor, Anita Alvarez, presented murder evidence that did NOT match her manslaughter charge.  At the time of this judicial fiasco, Chicago hadn't prosecuted a police officer in at least 17 years.

Later, Alvarez would state that she struggled with whether Servin should be charged at all

Obviously, Prosecutor Anita Alvarez's hadn't heard that

BILL COSBY SUES ONE OF HIS DARKEST ACCUSERS FOR DEFAMATION

"Cosby's lawsuit says [Beverly] Johnson joined other women making accusations against him to revive her waning career and to help sell copies of her memoir.

And we knew all this about him long before one woman said one word about drug-em and rape-em and also before Cosby, himself, admitted to why he bought the drugs.

He was not above seducing a young model by showing interest in her father’s cancer. He promised other women his mentorship and career advice before pushing them for sex acts. And he tried to use financial sleight of hand to keep his wife from finding out about his serial philandering.

Bill Cosby admitted to all of this and more over four days of intense questioning 10 years ago at a Philadelphia hotel, where he defended himself in a deposition for a lawsuit filed by a young woman who accused him of drugging and molesting her.

COP FIRED IN SEATTLE AFTER WALKING WHILE BLACK INCIDENT

William Wingate, a 70 year old black man, was arrested by Officer Cynthia Whitlatch because he was walking while in possession of a golf club in July 2014. It was the first time he had been arrested. He was using a golf club as a cane.

"Whitlatch claimed that Wingate swung the club at her, even though there was no indication of that on her patrol car’s dashcam.

The charges against Wingate were later dismissed, but several other behavioral complaints about Whitlatch surfaced including one based on racially-charged Facebook posts."

And now she can't figure out why she's been fired.

NATASHA McKENNA: NO CHARGES WILL BE BROUGHT AGAINST HER KILLERS

"On Tuesday, a chief prosecutor announced that no charges will be brought against the deputies involved in McKenna’s death. According to Raymond F. Morrogh of Fairfax County, Virginia, the officers acted within their rights when they tried to subdue the mentally ill woman.

Even though her hands and feet were cuffed and shackled, six officers in biohazard masks were brought in to subdue her. One of them used a Taser to deliver the four deadly shocks that stopped McKenna’s heart within minutes. Medics were able to revive her that day, but McKenna died several days later — leaving behind a 7-year-old daughter.

A medical examiner later concluded that she died of excited delirium, a dubious condition the medical community does not officially recognize but is nevertheless used as the cause of death for many victims of police tasing. 

Legal experts claim the term is used to downplay officers’ deadly useof stun guns and physical force."

A TALE OF TWO ERICs WHO CAN'T BREATHE

When I heard that Eric Courtney Harris died in Tulsa, Oklahoma while listening to some white cop say,

"F*ck Your Breath"

because Harris dared complain about being shot while lying on the ground (ala Oscar Grant) then complained further about being unable to breathe (ala Eric Garner)  I had a moment, maybe two, where I hoped that Harris was a drug dealer or big time gun runner, directly or indirectly responsible for the deaths of dozens of people. 

I have no excuse for thinking such a horrible thing.

I was only thinking about myself, about comforting myself. I just wanted there to be a reason, not a good reason, just some kind of reason for that police officer to put his knee on Eric's head and respond "You f*cking ran...Fuck Your Breath"  after he heard another human being, shot and frightened of dying complain  about "losing my breathe"

I just wanted one of the unarmed black people killed over this month to have been killed for a reasonable reason. But instead we get...

"F*ck Your Breath"

What's worse is that the white man that shot Eric wasn't really a police officer. 

Seventy-three year old Robert Bates is a rich man who was only playing cops-and-robbers as a "volunteer reserve deputy." And because of his money, somebody thought it was a good idea to turn him loose during an undercover operation---or just after. It's hard to tell. But it was Bates who accidentally grabbed his gun instead of his taser and shoots Harris.

You can hear apologizes to the white officers for shooting Harris in the video.  It's unbelievable. Watch at your own risk

Now, I really did think about scanning the net to find out who 44 year old Eric Harris really was but it really doesn't change anything about how he should have been treated. Having dealt with racists in some form or fashion all my life, I know you cannot let evil people make you evil too, not in retaliation, not even when they deserve it. You cannot let other people's garbage reduce you as a human being.

And one would think that police officers would have to learn something similar in order to routinely come into contact with and attempt to control the worst that our society has to offer. 

Officer F*ck-Your-Breath" must have skipped class the day they taught being civilized at the police academy because he's an animal in uniform no matter what Eric Harris did or didn't do.

Daniel Pantaleo never, ever said anything like "F*ck Your Breath" but he sure acted it out, didn't he? He just kept on choking Eric Garner with the same callous disregard for the pain, fear, and suffering of another human being as Officer F*ck-Your-Breath.

And I don't know why, but I am damn near certain that Mike Brown was bent over in pain,  curling into a more fetal position than demon charging position, when Darren Wilson gunned him down.

When an animal in uniform can't see a black person as a human being it can't.

AME Church Shooting: President Obama Misses The Mark

I've been thinking about rethinking my feelings on our 2nd Amendment rights for a while now.  I'm simply tired of imagining black people running from white people with guns. I am so tired.

Born and raised in the church, I truly never thought I'd imagine something like one of the church mothers or fathers in Emanuel AME Church pulling a glock off her hip, mowing Dylann Foot down long before his protectors got that bulletproof vest on him.

And I felt this way despite the fact that I was also raised in a secular time and place where even toy guns were frowned on. To this day, I still cannot imagine wanting to own a gun and keep in my house, much less get a permit to keep it on my hip. 

But this feeling that maybe I should reconsider peaked when President Obama started talking about gun control rather than the violence of white supremacy the day after the AME Church Shooting. And when the President did finally talk about racism, it was so abstract he could have been talking any country in the world - but not any country in the world where one side is dominating and annihilating the other.

The president to decided to save his detailed comments for gun control. Gun control?  Really? When it's probably time to face facts about gun control.

The NRA won. 

This country knows that more than two dozen people were shot dead at Sandy Hook, most of them white children --tiny children-- by yet another white boy that should never have had access to a gun, who got that gun from a mother who was reportedly stockpiling weapons in preparation for a spiritual end of the world shoot out (Where is THAT in Revelations? Has that prediction that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be one of the four horsemen actually been confirmed by biblical scholars?)

Nearly two dozen dead children, predominantly white, at the hands of someone that most definitely never should have had a gun. And despite that Christmas time massacre what's changed?

Not jack.

The NRA won.

This IS gun culture.

We are gun culture.

The next two dozen deaths of white children might make a dent in the NRA's latest big win. Maybe. So what do you think the chances are that national mourning over the deaths of nine black people will breaking the NRA's hold?

So why go there at all?

When black people are killed by a white supremacist, you start and end your speech talking about white supremacy, using the words "white supremacy," and you mention white supremacy's favorite symbol.

And white supremacy's favorite symbol is that mother #$%#$@# flag that southern white children have been raised under for the last 150 years.

If social media, trailed by main stream media, has already hopped on the fact that the confederate flag flies atop the statehouse in South Carolina is problematic, why not jump on the bandwagon step out (in your second term) and try to take a verbal shot at stopping that symbol from being a source of pride for the next generation of white racists?

Anti-racism black, brown, and white people are NOT confused about what that flag means. Card carrying mostly white pro-racists are not confused about what that flag means either. How is it that so many of the I'm-not-a-racist white south IS claiming to be confused about what that flag means?
Are Germans and Jewish people in Germany confused about what the swastika means? No. Has that symbol had other meanings in the past?  Yes. Are Germans and Jewish people in Germany confused about what the swastika means? NO! Know why? When the terrorist regime lost, their flag (and symbolically their ideals) were burned --never to be seen again without people spitting on it.
