When is Jared Kushner Leaving?
Last week Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner lost his super-duper top secret security clearance because he had all sorts of contacts with foreign governments during the Trump transition into the White House. It also looks like he met with banks while in White House and got loans right after those meetings --despite supposedly having divested his overt business interests. As a result of all this suspicious activities, Kushner has had his security clearance dropped down a level and can no longer listen to Trump's daily briefings anymore as Trump senior unpaid assistant, so I'm wondering how and when Jared. leaving.
Today Gary Cohn, Trump's Top Financial Advisor resigned
I don't know much of anything about protectionism and tariffs as far as the economy goes.
But I do know I've never heard something a president say anything like he's going to place a tarrif as high as 25% on anything, much less steel. And the Orange Dunderhead wants 10% on aluminum too. He said all this without any warning at all. Even Canada got pissed off said two the tarriff's game.
I also know that careful negotiations are required to adjust tariffs in small degrees this way or that way -- which is why the stock market got all shocky. And some are saying that the stock market sell off that came as result of Trump's tariff announcement are a verdict on Cohn and his inability to be effective.
The other thing I know is this: Cohn knows more than me about the economy. And Trump knows nothing about anything.
It's interesting to note that Cohn, who is Jewish, stayed with Trump after Trump said of alt-Right ethnoracists --who tend to love Nazi symbolism,-- that there were "fine people on both sides" in Charlottesville.
Apparently, messing up Cohn's reputation as a financial wheeler-dealer was a step too far. Cohn lost the argument with the White House on putting these tariffs in place, so he quit
