On her show ROSEANNE, a few weeks back, Roseanne Barr made unnecessary mention of BLACKISH and FRESH OFF THE BOAT. To me, it seemed the dialogue on the show was carefully massaged so as to seem harmless before white racists who always love a racism-coded giggle at POC's expense.
When people objected, ABC trotted out a black face to defend the show.
But most of us over the age of 12 have seen this crap before. And most of us took those lines of dialogue as the borderline racist pot shots they were meant to be. But now everybody-white-body-else has the ability to know too because Roseanne has been ranting on twitter today.

Roseanne Barr on Tuesday morning went on a shocking Twitter tirade, describing former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett in a racist and Islamophobic manner and calling Jewish billionaire George Soros a Nazi.
In a now-deleted tweet, Barr, currently starring in the ABC reboot of her ’90s working-class sitcom Roseanne, wrote: “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” referring to Jarrett, who is black and definitively not Muslim.
The racially charged comment came in response to another user tweeting an article from a conspiratorial right-wing outlet claiming Obama’s CIA “spied” on French presidential candidates, per a WikiLeaks tweet.
This wasn’t the first time Barr compared a black Democratic official to an ape. In 2013, she called Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice “a man with big swinging ape balls.”

While you're here, take a good look at that picture at the top. Anybody who still thinks race is based on biology, that does not understand that racism precedes race ought to think again.
Roseanne with a tan or a certain camera angle looks darker than both the black women she's identified as "apes." What is inspiring Barr's hatred is the knowledge that they are black -- not their skin color, not their facial features. What like bothers Barr most, like most racists, is the knowledge that these two black women have risen higher, faster, and become stronger than she is while having blood in them from Africa.
I hope Barr growls and twists and turns in her sleep with jealousy every night as she thinks of them and their former proximity to a sitting U.S. President.
On a side note:
Genetics isn't like pouring milk in chocolate, but I'd be willing to guess that both of the black women Roseanne has attacked have a 50/50 chance of having more "white-blood" in them than Roseanne herself does -- for so long as we're pretending race IS biology for the white racists that love her.
In fact, it would be funny as hell of Valarie and Roseanne share a common ancestor -- a light-skinned black one.
All jokes aside, it's time to get Roseanne taken off the air. And that means it's time to take ABC to task.
