BLOND HAIR DYE, WEAVES, AND POST-APOCOLYPTIC HAIR CARE

For the record?

The white woman's equivalent of a weave is blond hair dye.

a repost

So, somebody please inform the hoteps and their minions that white women aren't wearing their natural hair either.

I realized this one day when I walked into white church late. I snuck in the back and found myself looking at the back dozens of heads, as planned. But I needed to find a white female friend of mine. The white men's hair varied. The white women's hair did not. The back of my friend's dyed blond head looked exactly the same as 100 other white women sitting in the crowd. I tried to figure out which one she was by hair length, but then this usher person started walking toward me to help me, so I had to run, duck, cover, and find a seat quick.

Needless to say, I didn't find my friend until after the service. I meant to ask her what shade they're all using. But I forgot (chickened out).

A friend of mine, also white, told me a long time ago that most white men are raised wanting a little blond girl friend. That's why there are so many white women with blond hair running around worried about their next hair appointment when all their hair really does is hang there. They have to get those dark roots covered up regularly.

If white women could get their legs shortened so that they could all be petite too, they'd be getting the leg shortening surgery for high school graduation and waiting to ask Mommy-And-Daddy bank for the nose or boob job somewhere near the end of sophomore year in college

So make no mistake. If someone announces The Electromagnetic Pulse will be set off by another country to wipe out all our computers and our economy along with it, and that the pending post-apocalyptic United States is going to make "The Walking Dead" look like child's play for at least a decade AND THEN ALSO ANNOUNCES IT IS ALL STARTING TOMORROW...

white women will make run on water, food, and blond hair dye
AND
black women will make a run on water, food, spices, and hair extensions.

Don't get it twisted. Even our naturalistas will be running for synthetic hair. And you know why, too. Don't pretend you don't know.

Naturalistas will need synthetic hair for protective styles, braids, buns and such. There's no way we'll be able to get enough oils and conditioners to keep our hair sealed in a post-apocalyptic world, not even enough (gasp) mineral oil.

Of course, we could all go the Michonne route to hair care. But then we'd have to do the big chop once the United States got everything back online. We would not be able to free our hair from 10 years worth locking.

In the final analysis, this all means a sizable portion of the naturalista crowd will be running neck and neck with the relaxer/weave crowd to the same abandoned beauty stores. And if blond hair dye can be found in some of the same stores with black beauty products? Watch out!  White women's foot prints will be left on our backs after they run us down trying to get in there first.

I don't know about you? But I don't have Dania Gurira's face or Lupita N'yongo's face. More than that, my marble shaped head needs vertical lines given to it by hair. So no big chop for me. That means I going to be sprinting to the beauty supply store too.

When The Pulse happens, my high heeled shoes will be clicking on the pavement faster than anybody else's, running so fast that women running ahead of me will hear my clicks coming and think

the ghost of Flo Jo gaining on them, about to snatch them bald or snatch their soul. I fully expect hysteria, screaming, tears, and a rainbow of hair extensions and boxed hair dyes flying 10 feet into the air as women start trying to snatch one another's ill gotten gains when they're all back out on the street again.

I think I'll plan on wearing a hockey mask to protect my face from long nails.

If Beyonce's Bey Hive is trying to get into the abandoned beauty supply store for their leader? We will all need to think about preserving our own lives and just let them take it all. The Bey Hivers are going to be there for the weave hair, the synthetic hair, and the blond boxed dye too(saving it for after the designer versions run out) The big chop in 10 years won't be that bad. So I'll be a marble head for year. No biggie. At least, I'll be alive.

Product junkies? They're going to have the last laugh. They'll be re-identified as "pre-planners." As pre-planners they'll be further re-identified as "responsible." As responsible people they'll be put in charge of nomadic groups sent out to get food and supplies. The responsible pre-planners that succeed at keeping large camps from starving will eventually be elected to high political positions once the world come back to being normal.
----

In the hear and now this means I'm being responsible with my money if I buy yet another potentially magic hair conditioner. So what if I don't have any more room in my hair cabinet. This next purchase could lead to me being president one day 10 or so years from now, right?

55 PLUS 1 BLACK-OWNED HAIR CARE CHOICES

Official Black Wall Street came out with a list of 55 black owned hair product creators when it became apparent that the black owners of Shea Moisture lost their natural minds.

GREED VERSUS LOYALTY:

SHEA MOISTURE BUSTS A MOVE

TOWARD A LARGER, WHITER MARKET SHARE

But this fine black website missed a black owned hair care line that I've fallen in loved with called BEKURA BEAUTY.

My hair was drinking up everything I put on it and evaporation was taking care of the rest because I live in what usually behaves like a desert. I was doing the LOC -method but having to moisturize and re-twist every single night (too much hands in hair = breakage) because my hair needed water. Worse than that, it was too much work. Other black women were getting "second day hair" without having to go through all this.

Getting rid of glycerine when I didn't want frizz and going to a LOCO method, which means adding a heavier sealer oil at the end, helped... but not by much.

But my cream was simply weak --a bunch of them by Shea Moisture.

Then I saw a review on youtube of BEKURA BEAUTY PRODUCTS (used to be called  "BASK") And, I'm telling you, the PALM TAPIOCA BUTTERCREAM is not to be missed if you have fine, 4c, damn-near-zero porosity hair like mine. Moisture and a little hold.  I love it.

So far, I haven't heard a single bad review of any of their products.

A little of the PALM TAPIOCA goes a long way on my hair.  The jar is surprisingly heavy for it's size, packed with a dense cream. I've been using it for 4 months straight. And I still have about 1/3 of the jar left.

Using the LOCO method (Liquid, Oil (absorb-able), Cream, Oil-sealant), this is definitely my go-to cream now. I've been able to skip the last oil when I use this. My hair stays moist all day this very dry climate I live in. When I go to bed, if I'm re-twisting a fine mist of aloevera juice or water revives it and I'll add a little oil to seal the second night.

I haven't tried using it under a gel yet. But I'm thinking it's going to smooth the coils down and let me add a firm gel that will let me get those curl formers to curl form instead of just  stretch my hair out.

We'll see. My coils are super fine but super strong.

As part of my moisture routine, I only have to LOCO every other day some times every three days. So I'd say I'm using the PALM TAPIOCA two to three times a week max.

This fine spray --and I mean FINE SPRAY-- spritzing bottle is saving my hair life when I don't need to add product, by the way.

If you think Bekura Palm Tapioca might be for you, Bekura is having a Mother's Day Sale right now. Enter Code MOM2017 for 25% off -- I'm guessing that code should be good until Mother's Day.

http://www.bekurabeauty.com/

I usually order from a company called Pampered and Twisted out of Texas because the shipping costs were better and Bekura doesn't ship until 5 days have passed (Making fresh natural stuff?) But Bekura itself is having the sale, so I'm going to give Bekua itself a shot. I'll wait a bit for 25% off.

The rest of my favorite products are mentioned below within Official Black Wallstreet's list of 55 black owned hair care businesses. See all 55 at the link below.

GREED VERSUS LOYALTY: SHEA MOISTURE BUSTS A MOVE TOWARD A LARGER, WHITER MARKET SHARE

Last year, I heard a high level muckety-muck from Shea Moisture, Richeliu Dennis, start talking about how he wanted his products out of the black section of the drug store.

He actually started all this yakety-yak about "segregated shopping."

That's all it took to make the white folks feel guilty.

Shea Moisture products got mixed in with the white chicks stuff in drug stores before you could swing and snapping fingers in a circle two times.

Dennis Richelieu with a still from his white/light Shea Moisture Ad

So, I knew right then that what happened today was coming.
A year ago, I knew Shea Moisture was going to start marketing toward white women. That's why this ad didn't hurt my feelings like it did some black women today.

Last year, I thought to myself, "I don't actually care if white women use black products." But it wasn't long before I realized I was kinda lying to myself.

There are some ingredients like Shea Butter and Castor Oil that are pretty cheap because white women don't want them. On the flip side, because some black produced hair products are NOT mass produced --because only black women want them-- and these black hair care products can get really expensive if there are high quality ingredient in them.
Therefore, in the all-about-me zone, my feelings on this Shea Moisture move toward whiteness were strongly mixed

Selling to white women is a mixed bag. But what that original crack about not wanting to have Shea Moisture products "stuck" in the black hair care section? That actually worried me.

Yeah, all of us know Shea Moisture is a black product. And we'll know to look for it even it's mixed up among the thousands and thousands of white women products.
But what about other black hair products?
If white drug store owners take Shea Moisture's lead and start mixing all the black hair care products together with the ten billion white chick products, I'll never find what's good for my hair.
I'll have to do research on each and every hair care brand to figure out if it's meant for my fine, afro, and damn near zero-porosity hair. I mean, have you seen how huge the white hair care section is? I'll be looking up 20 white companies for every black hair company I find...if I'm lucky.

Furthermore,  smaller black hair care companies will just get swallowed up completely if they need drug store sales in addition to black beauty supply sales.

Don't believe me? Get in a time machine and go to a bookstore in the 1990s.
Go to one where the African American Literature is separated into an African American section then go to one where the African American books are buried in the 95% all white books.
In the second bookstore, you'll leave the store after three hours unsure there were ANY books by African Americans. You'll be in that second bookstore for hours and hours looking for a black face of a black author inside the book jacket.
When that mixing-the-books thing got fashionable for a hot minute pre-internet, I really couldn't find black authored books to read unless I got a black mail order company list THEN went to the bookstore looking for a specific title. I promise you, I could not just go to the bookstore on a whim and find a black authored book.
This describes what is about to happen to our hair care products.

New black hair care companies? Their stuff will be sold at black beauty supplies exclusively because they'll get buried in the whiteness in the drug store. Shea Moisture with its high brand name recognition will be one of the few companies to survive in the drug store environment.

And maybe that's the plan -- quasi-monopoly.

Rumor has it Shea Moisture has taken more than one giant step toward abandoning it's base. Not only is their advertising leaning into white women, I hear tell that they've actually changed their formulas and/or started coming out with formulas that don't nearly offer the protection my fine afro hair needs..

Like I said, that's the rumor. And if that's not true now? It probably will be soon if there's not enough back lash.

Trust me. I've already proven to myself that I can see into the future. I can teach you how to do it too.

All you have to do is know one thing: In this white supremacist, patriarchal, capitalistic society, if there's another few dimes to be made, even a millionaire will reach for them and abandon whoever he has to abandon to get them.

Greed is always the name of the game here in the good ole U S of A.

But that's okay. Know why?

I have plenty of black owned companies to get my hair care products from. And somehow I got started on my hair care journey by doctoring my own stuff and/or mixing my own stuff, so I'm not that Shea Moisture reliant.
And I'm more than willing to share the information I've found all over the internet.
Stay tuned.
