Trump has been clearly identified as a racist since at least the 1970s and 1980s when he was sued trying to stop the rental of his apartments to African Americans in New York.  And since the 1990s when he, among other things, ranted and raved about wanting the Central Park Five dead -- for a crime it turns out they didn't commit-- he was clearly identified as a white supremacist.

And the start of his last presidential campaign should have sealed his identity as a white supremacist for anybody who was even halfway paying attention.

But when the racial demographic with 98% of the power has grandma, grandpa, mommy, daddy, uncle, and auntie saying a percentage of the same things daily and at the Thanksgiving dinner table, obvious racism is willfully ignored.

There was no excuse for anybody to not know Trump as a white supremacist before Charlottesville, much less afterward...And that goes double for Bernie Sanders and his bros, who did their level damn best to say it was white working class angst that made the majority of white folks vote for Donald Trump until study after study came out saying it was racism that was the deciding factor in Trump's election.

And I'm not likely to forget ESPN's response to Jemele Hill either, not until everybody involved has been fired.

Now NBC is trying to come out smelling like a rose because they made it look like they fired her for racism instead of for losing them money -- when NBC hired her in spite of knowing she was one of white racists' favorite anchors when she was on Fox News.

Even though most of us black folk knew she couldn't possibly last, most of the ones I know were surprised she was fired so fast after the black face comment and non-apology. Unaware of just how bad her ratings were, that black face comment was probably the mildest racist crap that's plopped out of Kelly's mouth.

Kelly is such an unreconstructed racist that she famously flipped out in 2013, in reaction to a piece by Slate writer Aisha Harris about black Santa iconography, and insisted that not only was Santa white, but so was Jesus, and that in both cases this was "a verifiable fact." 

This claim was unbelievably dumb on multiple levels. 

Leaving aside the fraught question of whether there is a Santa Claus, his legend is apparently based is based on a man born in Turkey. Jesus, if he existed, was a Middle Eastern man who lived long before the concept of "whiteness" was invented. More importantly, both figures can safely be understood more as mythical than historical, and subsequently can be interpreted to look however people like.

It was just a matter of time before Kelly said something obnoxiously racist on the "Today" show, even if her ostensible role there was to be a chipper morning-show lark rather than the inflammatory demagogue that she was on Fox News. Yet somehow the executives at NBC  [such as Andrew Lack] were dumb enough not to see the inevitability of what happened.

Kelly benefited from the pernicious myth that racism is an ideology of the trailer park and the rural diner and that college-educated elite white people, especially those that live in coastal cities, are somehow immune. According to this theory, elite-group racism is a pandering act staged to bamboozle Cletus, and someone like Kelly, whose educational background and current lifestyle mirrors the cosmopolitan liberal whites she made a living bashing on Fox News, can't really be that hysterical and ignorant....

Sociologist Eduardo Bonilla-Silva has dubbed this the "racism without racists" phenomenon, in which squeamishness about diagnosing what's in the heart of a white person — at least an elite, educated white person — leads people to fear applying the R-word even to people like Kelly, who constantly say and do overtly racist things....

WHITE CARTOONIST DENIES BLATANT WHITE SUPREMACY

“I drew this cartoon Sunday night after seeing the U.S. Open final, and seeing the world’s best tennis player have a tantrum and thought that was interesting,” the cartoonist said. “The cartoon about Serena is about her poor behavior on the day, not about race. The world has just gone crazy.”

On Monday, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) chastised the Australian paper for printing the offensive image.

"The Sept. 10 cartoon not only exudes racist, sexist caricatures of both women, but Williams' depiction is unnecessarily sambo-like," read the NABJ's statement. ZYNEA BARNEY ESCAPED THE DATING APP KILLER BUT HIS NEXT VICTIM WASN'T SO LUCKY

"Zynea Barney, 26, said she began interacting with Danueal Drayton last November after he messaged her on an online dating and matchmaking application, for "two days straight."

Barney "wasn't looking for love" at the time, so she said she ignored the messages at first, but she eventually replied... The first time the pair met in person, they stayed in a hotel together but slept in separate beds, Barney said. That night, they watched movies and joked around with each other.

Then, Barney and Drayton began seeing each other every day, she said, whether it be a walk in the park or going out for a meal."

When Barney caught Drayton possibly cheating on her and he admitted he was talking to someone else online, she broke the relationship off. He started sleeping outside her house, begging her to forgive him. 

At some point later, having gotten her to drive to a park, he told her that he was leaving town and asked her if she sees them getting back together. When Barney said "no" he lunged across the car and wound up with his knees on her knees and started choking her.

Three men nearby saw what was happening, stopped Drayton, and called the police

Less than 2 weeks later a judge releases Drayton, who subsequently murdered Samantha Stewart in Queens, NY.

In the weeks before he was suspected of killing a New York nurse, New Haven resident Danueal Drayton missed multiple mandatory meetings with his Connecticut probation officer, state officials acknowledged Monday.

Connecticut officials said they searched for but couldn’t find Drayton, who has reportedly told authorities he has killed other women, although they are not certain if he is telling the truth. What Connecticut officials say they did not know was that Drayton had been charged on Long Island with choking his girlfriend on June 30 and released on July 5 — less than two weeks before authorities say they believe he killed nurse Samantha Stewart in Queens.

Drayton has confessed to killing 7 other women. Again, this has not been confirmed.

When the judge was asked why he released Drayton after choking Barney, the judge has reportedly stated that he couldn't have possibly known about other issues in a different state. But I'm trying to figure out why the attempted murder of Zynea Barney wasn't enough to keep him in prison all by itself?

Was the judge's decision a matter of black lives not mattering...again?

Or was Drayton's release a matter of domestic violence not being considered "real violence" worthy of high bail and prison by our male dominated legal system?  

Or was it both? 

And why isn't our mainstream press asking these questions about why Samantha Stewart is dead?

Details are still sketchy, but it sounds like Samantha Stewart would still be alive now if law enforcement had taken the attempted murder of Zynea Barney seriously. And this seems so obvious, I feel like I MUST be missing something.

I guess I'll keep reading as more details come out.

PHILIDELPHIA EAGLES REFUSE TO SEE TRUMP DUE TO HIS ANTI BLACK LIVES MATTER STANCE

Using  the National Anthem as a shield against white supremacy accusations, The Orange Chump rescinded his invitation to the Eagles after he found out a lot of the players refused to see him. 

Shortly after the Eagles’ Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots, many of the players began announcing that they would not be in attendance at the traditional visit to the White House... who recently enacted a new rule that would penalize players for exercising their First Amendment right to protest the atrocious treatment of black Americans by law enforcement.

The claim that Agent Evil Orange is worried about respect for the anthem is either a total lie or a coded way of saying what he's communicated in code before,

As far as I'm concerned the mainstream news outlets like the New York Times, CNN, etc are giving Agent Evil  Orange (AEO) cover by focusing on his cancellation in their headlines. The headlines are ALL a lot of people will read. Missing from the headline is the fact that AEO cancelled a party that the star players had refused to go to. And it this is what should have been in the headlines -- not "Trump cancels...." as if Trump was in control.

• claim the crowd at his inauguration was larger than President Obama's.

We cannot afford to have this level of crazy pumped out over the evening news and have people mistake it for news. 

I'm thinking that the chances of having some sort of regulatory agency in the government coming in to stop this madness while the republicans are in charge are probably nil - even though I sense some "moderate" republicans are afraid of Trump's level of crazy just about now.   

I guess we will see. 

Or maybe our fourth estate will prove able to clean its own house. PBS and other news affiliates are pushing back.

She detailed how she navigated getting out of Harvey Weinstein's clutches without pissing him off badly enough to trash her career with other movie makers. The journalist who wrote the initial Harvey Weinstein expose that created this sexual harassment/sexual assault firestorm is reportedly Ronan Farrow.

His mother is actress Mia Farrow and his father is Woody Allen -- who was accused of molesting Ronan's then 7 year old sister among other things. Woody Allen wound up marrying his adopted sort-of step-daughter(?) that he was raising (?) with his then girlfriend Farrow.

Woody Allen says his 23-year relationship with Soon-Yi Previn worked because of their previous parent-child relationship. 

“I’m 35 years older, and somehow, through no fault of mine or hers, the dynamic worked,” the 79-year-old director told NPR in an interview published Wednesday. “I was paternal. She responded to someone who was paternal.”

But let's say they only wanted women on the cover. That's fine. That means I'm back to asking why Tarana Burke isn't on the cover instead of Swift. 

My main point here is that it seriously torques me that Taylor Swift is on this cover at all. 

As I said before in a previous post, Swift, like most women have been conditioned to not respond mild sexual assault* --like a man putting his hand up her dress on your bare ass during a photo shoot. 

A lot of women have been conditioned to not react publicly to stuff like Matt Lauer givin a sex toy to a female co-worker as a Christmas gift and somehow communicating what he'd like to do to her with it.    

But Swift had tons of power in the moment she was assaulted. Swift is not Kesha. She has white fans legion enough to decimate anybody who might have challenged her if she had turned around and slapped some low-level flunky DJ. She's damn near got Beyonce-level power.

If Swift had smacked that man immediately instead of pretending a hand wasn't up the back of her dress in order to be "professional," Swift would have gotten the same support she got when she went to court in response to the lawsuit HER ATTACKER FILED because she reported him and got him fired.    

That's right. Her attacker filed the initial law suit, not Swift.  

While I know I have not responded immediately to sexual assault for the very same reasons Swift didn't**,  I also know that you do not get hero status for going to court, getting on the stand to tell your story without crying due to the humiliation....when firing back at an accuser that is 100x less powerful than yourself.

The is a still photo from a video where Trump felt it necessary to mock a white congressman. Elizabeth Warren, by calling her Pocahontas during an award ceremony for Native Americans. 

Yeah, he's an racist idiot. There was likely no brain engagement at all. He saw Native Americans, he thought about Elizabeth Warren and mocking a non-white icon was automatic. 

This is not new from him. 

However, the painting behind the Orange Orangutan Racist and was placed there as part of the background scenery for presenting an honor to Native Americans. 

That painting is of Andrew Jackson, one of the worst President this country has ever seen. A hero of white folks,  the Cherokees actually called Andrew Jackson "Indian Killer" in the early 19th century because while he was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Native Americans is also responsible for the Indian Removal Act commonly called "The Trail of Tears"*

Think about it. Trump didn't hang that painting himself. And there's no way there's somebody else as stupid as he is on his staff. I think somebody deliberately put that painting there behind those Native Americans as a kind of winking gesture to white supremacist base.  

THE VERY NEXT DAY 

 Trump used his twitter account to bash Muslims

President Trump has repeatedly made a show of flouting convention on his Twitter feed, spouting off falsehoods and occasionally pandering to or amplifying once-fringe voices. In that light, a string of retweets he made Wednesday morning could be considered par for the course. They shouldn’t be.

In between tweets bashing media organizations that report stories he doesn’t like, Trump retweeted three videos from the Twitter account of Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of Britain First, an obscure far-right outfit widely considered to be a hate group. Fransen herself faces charges of “religiously aggravated harassment” after she shouted slurs at a hijab-wearing woman walking with her children last year. 

The three tweets in question presented videos of murky origin  [one has been proven a lie already] with flat, crude captions: “Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!,” “Muslim destroys a statue of Virgin Mary!” and “Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!”

The white mainstream press is finally saying -- approximately two years too late-- Trump's sources of information are racists. They are saying his own words are racist. But they have not crossed the line into complete truth telling. 

"He is a racist."

"Racist" is not an epithet. This word has meaning. And Trump is one. Most, if not all, of his ideas about non-white people are born of racism which means,

"He is a racist" is simply the truth
