When 1400 Died, The Majority Of Republicans Said ‘No’ When Obama Wanted To Launch A Strike On Syria

Now that 75 are dead Trump and his minions are concerned?

Is Trump going to stop pushing Muslim Ban 2, which includes a ban on Syrian Refugees?

"The president announced Thursday that he had launched a missile strike on a Syrian air base in retaliation for a deadly chemical weapon attack perpetrated by Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime. The chemical attack, carried out earlier this week, left at least 70 dead.
In 2013, when a sarin nerve gas attack left more than 1,400 dead outside Damascus, President Barack Obama went to Congress to get approval to strike.
In a whip count from ThinkProgress, 183 Republicans were against bombing the country. Only 12 Republicans, including then-House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), sided with the president to launch a strike. Ultimately, Congress did not appear approve the strike, with 243 Congressional members swaying towards voting “No.” Obama ultimately decided to postpone the vote.

I'm trying to figure out how the republicans are so sure Assad did it this time, when they pretended they weren't last time Assad chemically attacked his own people -- and they're sure SO FAST this time.

I'm also thinking about what this does for Trump and republicans politically speaking. Because the safety of the Syrian people is CLEARLY not what's on Trump's mind or the republican's minds.

1) It distances Trump from Russia. Throws mud into the Russia investigation directly.

2) It provides cover in the form of a huge distraction from the investigation into Trump.

3) It provides a tough guy, maverick image with his voters.

4) It provides a tough guy image  for North Korea -- which may escalate or de-escalate things there.

5) It provides an unpredictability factor for everybody Trump talks to, including China.
