REDUCING THE MYSTICAL PATH TO MORALITY TO SOMETHING MANAGEABLE

If we reduce the mystical Path ([Christian...]Kabbalistic, Taoist, etc) to nothing more then a way of becoming a more moral person, then we spit on the thousands of Sages and the millions of texts they spent their lives preparing for us. We wouldn't need all of these teachings for something so trivial to understand as building better moral and civic values, this only requires common sense.

The Path of Illumination is not a mere process of becoming a better thinker, a more ethical person or a civic leader, these things are side effects; the Path is about revealing the spiritual worlds concealed from us, to expand awareness and connection and grow to new degree of conscious evolution beyond the mere five senses, in fact it is to reveal a new higher sense of reality entirely.
If you're not aiming yourself toward this kind of illumination, you haven't understood what the [s]ages of the past are clearly telling us.
The All is not limited, It is infinite - so don't limit yourself or your experience. Demand more, push, grow, expand.
For those that scuff at this, and they are many, remember that their philosophies are produced by the very same limited mind that we're trying to move beyond. They have refused to Exodus from their ego thinking so now in their laziness they must also pull you down in fear and envy.
Don't fall for this - you are eternal and life is simply a game where you can learn to expand beyond the temporal, this is the only purpose of your life - to know (experience) more with each breath without limit.
You will become what you agree is possible; infinity is possible ?

SELF-LOVE BEFORE OTHER LOVE: YOU CAN'T RESPECT SOMEONE WHO KISSES YOUR ASS

You may recognize that line from an old movie called FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF. It's an important concept that way too many of my anti-feminist sisters are failing to realize.

This lack of realization among anti-feminists* becomes apparent every single time a black male predator goes down. The defense of R. Kelly, Bill Cosby, Chris Brown, XXXTentacion, Ray Rice... brings this out the black female patriarchy sufferers every single time.

But the black women that make me even sadder are the "nice ones, " the I'm-Just-Too-Nice-Girls, who don't understand that what they are really trying to do is kiss the ass of the same ole frog trying to turn him into a prince.

The thing that's great about this video is that it low-key discusses co-dependence and how some women (and men) pour so much gas on an average human being's worst tendencies that disrespect is a natural outcome.

Let me say it again:

Person A kissing Person B's asswill always bring out the worst in Person A

And if Person A has an ounce of integrity Person A will dump Person B on instinct(even if they don't understand exactly what's happening)
and recover themselves

WHAT I'VE LEARNED by Aja Monet

Interdependence

She covers it all.

I know cloud formations
that raindrops don't fall in a teardrop shape
they originally fall in the shape of a flat oval
I don't remember where I read that
...
how to be broken and put together again

I know my arms are long

and my hands remind me of vines
I know laughter
sometimes sounds like bubble wrap
and it's my favorite part of unpacking boxes

When I smile I quint my eyes

i know men with deep diaphram laughter
and lady bugs aren't really ladies..

I know they like to follow me into subway cars

on days when I need to be reminded of magic

I know spider webs sparkle like diamonds after rainshowers

I know yestedfay is the day before tomororw
and tomrrow is an illusion where I imagine...

IF WE LEFT, THEY WOULDN'T HAVE NOBODY

Feeling Rebloggy
A repost from 2015

"The staff at the Valley Springs Manor left when they stopped getting paid — except for cook Maurice Rowland and Miguel Alvarez, the janitor.
"There was about 16 residents left behind, and we had a conversation in the kitchen, 'What are we going to do?' " Rowland says.
"If we left, they wouldn't have nobody," the 34-year-old Alvarez says.

Their roles quickly transformed for the elderly residents, who needed round-the-clock care."I would only go home for one hour, take a shower, get dressed, then be there for 24-hour days," says Alvarez.

Rowland, 35, remembers passing out medications during those long days. He says he didn't want to leave the residents — some coping with dementia — to fend for themselves.

"I just couldn't see myself going home — next thing you know, they're in the kitchen trying to cook their own food and burn the place down," Rowland says. "Even though they wasn't our family, they were kind of like our family for this short period of time."

For Alvarez, the situation brought back memories from his childhood.

"My parents, when they were younger, they left me abandoned," he says. "Knowing how they are going to feel, I didn't want them to go through that."

Alvarez and Rowland spent several days caring for the elderly residents of Valley Springs Manor until the fire department and sheriff took over.

The incident led to legislation in California known as the Residential Care for the Elderly Reform Act of 2014.

"If I would've left, I think that would have been on my conscience for a very long time," says Rowland."

TIMING SOMETIMES MAKES THE CLICHE A FORM OF VERBAL VIOLENCE

Feeling Rebloggy

I’m listening to a man tell a story. A woman he knows was in a devastating car accident; her life shattered in an instant. She now lives in a state of near-permanent pain; a paraplegic; many of her hopes stolen.
He tells of how she had been a mess before the accident, but that the tragedy had engendered positive changes in her life. That she was, as a result of this devastation, living a wonderful life. And then he utters the words. The words that are responsible for nothing less than emotional, spiritual and psychological violence:
Everything happens for a reason. That this was something that had to happen in order for her to grow.
That's the kind of bullsh*t that destroys lives. And it is categorically untrue.

bcuz i didn't love myself

WORDS OF PHOTOGRAPHER & ARTIST SADDI KHALI
there is so much i've blamed on my ex's that was really on me. there r so many times i held them responsible 4

my fatalistic approach,
my fear-based dismantling,
my lack of trust,
my unromantic engagement,
my constant-warrior stance,
my dismissive nature,
my hyper-critical gaze,
my maintaining an escape hatch,
my failure 2 communicate &
my seeking defeat,
bcuz its all i believed was available 2 me.

i created beautiful love fantasies
i held up against them,
while putting no energy or effort
into making them real.

i manufactured martyrdom.
i didn't recognize that i came bearing cancer &
smeared it all over everything i did w/ them.

i didn't realize i had no expectations of success w/ them &
was just tryna lose on top.
i didn't understand that
i had already destroyed those relationships from the start.
& even what i thought i knew,
i had no idea of how great
the degree of destructive impact
bcuz i didn't love myself.

its a fascinating thing

2 really open my eyes & see myself,

2 see that i set my life up on a premise of pain,

2 see that fear guided me away from loving in any healthy way,

2 see that i sold dreams
built on a foundation of self-abuse.
these ridiculous tendencies have begun
2 reveal themselves bcuz they've begun 2 leave.

4 the 1st time, i'm meeting people & not looking 4 every reason it won't work.

4 the 1st time, i'm seeing things 2 address or compromise on, insteada things i don't like.

4 the 1st time, i'm not immediately holding up a list of deal-breakers, insteada relaxing & not making everyone the future mother of my kids (or nah) in the 1st 10minutes of knowing them.

4 the 1st time, i'm really coming 2 the table w/ all the great things i bring, insteada all of the things i think i lack.
.
i'm reserving my need 2 tell folks i meet whats wrong w/ them & instead,
.
i'm listening 2 them, then sharing the things i'm working on in me.
.
i'm remembering how much i enjoy being sweet & just how beautiful romance feels.
.
i'm remembering i am so much more than my fear & when i overwhelm my fear w/ the rest of me, i end up conquering the fear & putting something great in its place.

i'm feeling good, knowing that even my previous wackness had a reason & a purpose, knowing that i can get rid of the tendencies that don't serve me, knowing that even as i improve, the best of me is yet 2 come.
