UNREPENTANT WHITE RACISM IN FERGUSON CONTINUES TO CRUSH BLACKS: THE FRED WATSON STORY

Feeling Rebloggy
On Aug. 1, 2012, after playing basketball with friends in a Ferguson park, Fred Watson said he walked to his car where he drank a cold bottle of water and switched on the air conditioner.
He was sitting in his car when a police officer, Eddie Boyd III, drew his gun on him (much like in QUEEN SUGAR) Boyd searched Mr. Watson’s car without permission and wrote him more than half a dozen tickets, including for not wearing a seatbelt, even though the car was parked.
Five years after the arrest, (unlike QUEEN SUGAR) Ferguson continues to prosecute Mr. Watson. Mr. Watson, now 37, is due in court on Tuesday for the start of a criminal trial for nine minor charges stemming from the episode.
“When does it stop?” asked Mr. Watson through tears recently. He lost his job as a defense contractor that paid more than $100,000 a year. [He also lost his security clearance which means its unlikely he will be getting that job back...after all these years of harassment for being black.]

The prosecutor has refused to drop the charges despite problems with evidence, a number of errors made by the prosecutor’s office, and the arresting officer having a history of beating suspects and falsifying reports.
While serving as a St. Louis officer, Officer Boyd pistol-whipped a 12-year-old girl in the face in 2006, and in 2007 struck a child in the face with his gun or handcuffs before falsifying a police report.
Mr. Watson said that when he complained about his arrest, the police added two more charges: failure to comply with a police officer and making a false report. The false report charge was added because Mr. Watson provided a different name from the one on his license. He said “Fred,” instead of “Freddie.”
Since then, the case has been beset by delays. At one point, the prosecutor’s office sent a letter to Mr. Watson’s lawyer stating that all charges against Mr. Watson had been dropped. They were later reinstated...
He said he suffered from bouts of anxiety, feared leaving his house because of potential police harassment, and did not answer the phone to avoid debt collectors.

I thought the DOJ had stopped Ferguson from giving black people fines upon fines upon fines then putting together fake charges if they don't pay and/or confess.

Trump is in office now, but these charges were not dropped (permanently) when President Obama was in office either.

PRAY EM IF YOU GOT EM

I know being a woman won't protect me. But somehow, I keep forgetting that class and/or income won't protect us from white racists either. And there are so many that don't know that's exactly what they are.

Like a friend of mine said the other day, it's the easiest thing in the world to just turn your head.

None of use are safe.
