I. A Report

There was a report that North Korea has a mini nuke they might be able to put on top of the missiles they've been testing lately. Rumor has it they haven't quite mastered targeting or having it re-enter the atmosphere yet.

II. Trump's response

"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States," the president warned, responding to a reporter's question during at his Bedminster Golf Club, where Trump has spent the last several days. "They will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before."

There's a lot of sabre rattling going on. That is, both of them are likely lying and trying to look tough. But eventually, one of them is going to feel like they have to put up or shut. Something like this will be the first stupidity that will lead to actual bombing.  A lot of people just don't think it'll be today or anytime soon.

I never thought I'd be glad Trump has shown himself to be a fool round the world. I'm thinking world leaders know that nothing he says should be taken that seriously...at first.  But world leaders have to be worried about how far and how fast Trump can make delicate situations devolve with his mouth. He's the leader of a world power no matter how dumb he is.
