PRIMARIES ARE MADE FOR REPLACING COWARDLY DEMOCRATS

Millions of women and supporters of women's issues marched in anti-Trump protests over the weekend.

Millions

Multiple news outlets are saying upwards of 75% of people want the DREAMERS, DACA beneficiaries to be allowed to stay in the country

Yet the Democrats appeared to be were more fearful about their re-election chances than they were concerned with protecting DACA.

I don't actually know what the fear was for democrats. I can't read anybody's mind. But this much cowardice reflects something. I just don't know what, not for sure.

But politicians don't change from year to year, from decade to decade, or from century to century. Politicians think about getting re-elected more than they think about anything else.

This white democratic fear of saying "Trump's immigration motives are racist" when the KKK is cheering for him, after the white main stream media has finally taken the step of calling Trump's words and actions "racist" -- the fear of telling this whole truth and taking a real fight to the republicans when you have this much support almost has to be about democrats having re-election chances and white voters on their minds more than anything else.

The old guard democrats must be thinking the ones who really get them elected and donate large sums of money were not out in the street marching this past weekend. This must be why they disregarded people of all shades out in the street, our mood and our desire to fight the white male supremacists of the republican party.

Fine.

At this point, my only hope is that the republicans know that the public sentiment is with the DREAMERS.

Not that I trust the polls I've seen on public support of DREAMERS, not after Trump won and Hillary lost. But republicans know they will need a few black and brown votes eventually...even if that eventually is 10 years from now. They know they can't deport 800,000 young people whom they cannot misrepresent as terrorists to anybody but about 35% of the country who are racist Trump supporters.

The republicans may gut the rest of immigration reform for every country that's not as white as Norway. But the DREAMERS will likely wind up protected by the moderate republicans

...protected from Trump.

I believe Trump's initial strategy, the initial motive in destabilizing DACA  was to get funding for his Mexico Wall. That is, I don't think Trump was really thinking of deporting 800,000 kids. He is enough of a racist to do so. I just don't think EVEN HE could get it done without looking like the worst human being on the planet.

Yet, Trumplethinskin, The White Supremacist Reality TV Show Host heard the cheers from his white supremacist base and changed his feeble little mind. He really started to want the nearly 800,000 DREAMERS gone.

Reading between the lines, I  truly think that's what happened. Threatening to cancel DACA strictly as a bargaining chip for # BuildThatWall got moved to the other section of his game board called, # MakeAmericaWhiteAgain.

I could be wrong.

But the thing I am sure of is this:  The moderate republicans have to live on and eventually get votes more than a sliver's worth of votes from black and brown populations after Trump is gone. So some republicans know that they can't go crazy and deport 800,000 young people no matter what Trump says.

They could never actually vote against Childrens Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) either.

That whole debate was a song and dance as evidenced by Trumplethinskull-- not knowing that the republicans were just joshing about cancelling CHIP, lying about being against wanting to fund it so they could get democrats to cave on DACA -- tweeted that CHIP needed to be extended for years not just a few weeks
Therefore, you cannot call that a "democratic win" That was a republican red herring from the start. The Nitwit-In-Chief being unable to follow political double talk showed us that.

If republicans were to seriously attempt deporting 800,000 DREAMERS then black and brown people would remember that for decades.

Therefore, they can't do it, expel dreamers --especially if polls are even somewhat true in reflecting that the vast majority (76% to 86%) of people want DREAMERS to stay.

However, the republicans can gut immigration can keep DREAMERS on eggshells indefinitely, hold DREAMERS over democrats heads by keeping them in an indefinite status.

Republicans can also make immigration hell for everybody except for people from the whitest of countries or people who already have enough money to get a primo education no matter how poor their country is --by putting rules in place that nobody appreciates as having tons of impact in reinforcing white supremacy and MAKE AMERICA WHITE AGAIN.

And this is where democrats just giving up during their half-ass shut down matters.

The other thing this shutdown likely accomplished -- a shutdown where the democrats didn't have a REAL serious ask in the first place-- was showing democratic voters just how weak their representatives are.

All the momentum of the anti-Trump women's March heading into 2018 was squandered on Monday when democrats voted to re-open the government having gained absolutely nothing but egg on their faces.

So, let me say it again: We need a black and brown led party of our own, with only about one-third of white people. Either we take over the democratic party or create a new party.  I was thinking most of our energy should be aimed at restricting Trump's white supremacist agenda. But the democrats are so weak we have to aim at removing each of the democrats one primary at a time --even as we build a new party.

Schumer isn't due to go through another election until 2022. But somebody needs to be prepping to take his place. And if someone is ready to take his place now, then pressure should be put on him to retire.

Democrats need to be searching for new politicians to run in primaries in every state to replace the current field of incumbents. Any senator or representative who voted to end that shutdown without one real concession from the republicans on immigration reform or DACA needs to be removed from congress.

Even if DREAMERS stay --and I think they will-- we need to make cowardly democrats' worst fears come true. We need to make sure they cannot be re-elected.

The republicans have most of the power not all of the power. They were always going to get most of their own way -- not all of it entirely their way. The democrats should have fought and lost instead of whimpered and gave up.

Civil Rights Leaders went out and fought with a 10% chance of winning every time. And they lost over and over and over again. But sometimes they won.

The old guard, white democrats do not know how to wage this kind of long term battle no matter who has control of the Senate, the House, and the Presidency. You have to pick your battles. But the democrats don't go full out on ANY battles.

They had all the support they could have possibly needed to make this shutdown do work for them. And they didn't use that support to go hard and do battle of DACA and other immigrant issues.

We need to use the primary system to remove most of the democrats in congress regardless of what happens next -- because they've left all of what's going to happen next to the republicans anyway.

Anybody who says he trusts McConnell to hold a DACA vote, trusts a man like McConnell who held up a Supreme Court nomination and other judge nominations for a year just so the first black president couldn't have his nomination heard needs to be replaced first.

Chuck Schumer needs to go, hopefully before 2022. Maybe we can scream loud enough for him to retire.
