CAROLYN BRYANT DONHAM: THE ORIGINAL PERMIT PATTY DESERVES THE DEATH PENALTY

...BUT AT WHAT COST?
In a relatively new book, the white woman named Carolyn Bryant admitted she lied about Emmett Till having whistled at her and grabbing her in 1955. Emmett, 14 years old at the time, was tortured and killed by her white husband and brother-in-law as a result. Two grown white men beat Till, shot the boy in the head, then tied him to a huge boat fan with barbed wire so he'd sink to the bottom of a river. They confessed and were tried a year later and acquitted by a white jury. Carolyn lied on the stand about Till having insulted and assaulted her. So when a black woman at THE ROOT asked if justice has a shelf-life,
I can easily say I'd send a 94 year old terminally ill cancer patient to the electric chair for Emmett Till's torture and murder --despite my inability to wrap my head around the necessity or justice of the death penalty.

But Jeff Sessions, Department of Justice, doesn't care about Emmett Till or any black person on this planet; Coretta Scott King made this clear to all of us in the 1980s. So justice is not the DOJ goal here. Sessions is interested in getting credit for NOT being a KKK-aficianado...same motive he and the Trump DOJ had in the 10,000 years too late acquittal of the black boxer guy with the white woman fetish.
So, I'm thinking this Donham confessed because she can barely see, hear, and feel anything anymore, and has found or re-found Jesus --and is trying to get into heaven at the last minute. ---same as slave owners of yesteryear who used to set slaves free on their death beds. And if she's not feeling so well now, on the edge of death with nothing to lose in her 80s, then I'm trying to figure out how much justice there is if she disappears inside senility inside 2 months or dies within 2 years
...when the cost will be having Trump and Sessions forever connected to getting Emmett Till a smidgen of justice
Emmett Till died in 1955. The hands-on killers were acquitted and are dead now. The most important hands-off killer is likely more than half-dead now. So it's too late for there to be a significant quantity of justice. And THE COST OF REVENGE against the main murderer, the one who set everything in motion with her white damsel in distress routine ala Permit Patty, is simply too high.
But if Emmett Till's extended family want her on death row, I'm all in. BLaCKCHiCKRoCKeD.BLoGSPoT.CoM
