The one and only thing Trump has a complete handle on is what his white supremacist base wants to see. Pence knows this. And he wants to be president next. So he's going to follow Trump's lead so he can hang onto the white supremacist voting block too. Reaffirming white supremacy is the ONLY BENEFIT to making this argument go on and on and on. If they wanted the ballplayers to get bored with it, they'd shut up.

9 out of 10 black men kneeling now didn't do it for Black Lives Matter, they did it because Colin Kaepernick not getting more millions mattered because he didn't get signed. Tnen they started kneeling because Trump said they couldn't. The people interested in kneeling for Black Lives Matter did so last year.

And I don't think I saw anybody kneeling or saying much of anything else when these players were beating up their wives. I can think of two exceptions to this and they're both retired players.

Pence’s decision also comes at a time when Kaepernick has reiterated that, should an NFL team sign him, he would now stand for the anthem. Kaepernick, the former quarterback for the 49ers, had said as much when he became a free agent in March, explaining he did not want his protest to detract from the positive change he believes has been created, ESPN reported then. He added that the national conversation that ensued last year, as well as the support he received from NFL and NBA players, among others, affirmed his message.

If this story is true (and there's some question about that) is Kaepernick is saying he's not going to continue to press for change while on the field? Is he saying his only intention was to start or press for more conversation on black lives mattering too? The country was already having the conversation before he kneeled. The white conservative side of the conversation said "Be quiet and sit when you're supposed to sit, stand when you're supposed to stand." Is Kap willing to do that now? Let's hope Kap's agreeing to stop kneeling in order to get a job an ugly rumor, soon to be corrected.

Regardless, I'm not a big Kaepernick fan.

He encouraged people, black and brown people, to forgo voting whether that's how he'd characterize telling people he himself wouldn't bother to vote in the 2016 election or not. Again -- not a fan of his. Yet, I think his heart's in the right place. But many signs point to him thinking and behaving like a child.

In the end, these NFL protests are 9/10ths a toxic masculinity shoot out between Trump and black NFL players (you can't tell me, a grown man, what to do) more than it is about Kaepernick's original stance on Black Lives Matter (stop shooting unarmed black people and letting cops get away with it)

So I'm bored with the whole thing. When players start protesting other players beating their wives and girlfriends because Black Women's Lives Matter too, somebody let me know.
